White House Internship

What are you guys top choices? Anyone picked the Office of Digital Strategies?

@mrgrimm92 Hmm. I don’t think I got the “vitals” email. I got something that sounds like that back in July when I submitted my application, but there wasn’t a PDF or any attachment. Oh well. Hopefully it’s okay…!

we are supposed to be finding out today… in rolling notifications. best of luck all. :D

Nothing yet… Anybody?

Nothing thus far, I received my APE about this time on the 19th. Do another update later or after contact, whichever is first.

whats an APE

Application Process E-Mail ;o)

Still haven’t heard anything today, but a friend who’s a former intern says that when they notify, it’s often closer to the close of business, rather than morning or early afternoon. Or it could just be tomorrow or later this week. Good luck, everyone!

Orrr maybe it’ll be tomorrow…

The suspense is killing me!

I must have checked my email 100 times today! I’m worried though because I did not interview, so I’m not sure if I want to read the email. Eeek!

I know, it’s terrible! I was not interviewed either, although I did receive a vitals email. So I am worried

Yeahh. So, based on a general perusing of the earlier parts of this thread, I’m getting that they usually take their time sending out decisions. And that when they start to come, they come in waves, indiscriminately of whether you were rejected or accepted into the program. I think it’s best to pretend that the earliest the decisions can come is Friday…and then it’ll be a happy surprise if they come sooner, but it won’t be devastating if they don’t arrive this week.

So, just a clarification. The vitals email just asks you to confirm your name, address, social, etc., and that’s it? Is that all that’s on the PDF / in the body of the email or is there more to it? I seem to be getting from earlier discussion that it may have something to do with the background check…?

@amplifilar: they may use the vitals info for bckgrnd check purposes. they makes a lot of sense… the body of the email essentially just said: “fill this out, and get it to us by such-and-such date.” The PDF itself just asked us for our full name, social, mailing address, etc…

and i have decided to follow your logic, i will be planning on NEXT monday for the email, if it comes sooner, i will be pleasently surprised… if not, c’est la vie.

that makes a lot of sense**

not they… sorry >_<

This blog has helped a lot.

I got a call last night and interviewed with a department today. I think it went really well. The person mentioned that this was the first round of interviews. The person told me I would find out through the internship office in the next few weeks.

Good luck to everyone.

I know this might sound repetitive but has there been cases of individuals getting vitals, APE, no interview, and still received an acceptance letter. I feel like a lot of us are in the same boat. If anyone can attest to this it would be greatly.

@Analytical10 What questions did the interviewer ask?

Crackthewhip…they asked why do you want to intern at Wh? And asked me to elaborate on my experience. It was about 15min.

@analytical: who was your interview with?
