White House Internship

He didn’t say. Does everyone have an idea of where they would live once we find out…in December o_O

So I just called and the lady said if you aren’t interviewed you probably won’t be accepted.

@Senior Status- Living amongst the #OccupyDC crowd. I don’t know. :P

I am aiming for mid-late November. Earlier is even better. Reading and then re-reading 6,000 applications is a lot of work and caffeine. We can only stay positive at this time.

I have gotten the APE email and vitals email, but no interview so far. Have to keep positive and proactive (that includes checking your email/phone everyday).

First time poster here and one week reader of this thread

I interviewed two weeks ago, received the APE email last week, and got a vitals request this week.

Good luck everyone!

I’ve still received no other contact than APE. Nevertheless I have the same state of mind as: “iChristina2011”… I will remain optimistic and active.
As before and always, good luck to all and congrats to those that are accepted.

Hi, I got an APE two weeks ago, interviewed last week and was asked for a writing sample (due the next afternoon) about an hour after and got a “vitals” email this morning.

someone else on twitter saying a couple hours ago that he got an internship with WH Office of National Drug Control Policy

@ seniorstatus2011 did she say even if you receive an APE and vitals e-mail with no interview you wont be accepted. Or one without the other with no interview (i.e. APE and no interview).

She didn’t mention those at all, but I do think the people who answer the phones are interns because the person changes on a daily basis. So I’m not sure how accurate her assumption was

I received a vitals email and a phone interview with the Office of the First Lady… I’m biting my nails because I haven’t heard anything yet. I have not had to perform a writing sample thus far, and haven’t received an APE. THIS IS KILLING ME!

It’s a shame their notification process is so irregular. Reading this thread I have heard every combination possible of recieving an APE and vitals but no interview, or having an interview and APE but no vitals…ect. There literally is no way of telling if the pattern means anything. the writing sample seems really daunting. i hope i am not asked to write one.
btw have people been interviewed for more than one office?

I was interviewed three times, actually. Once with the head of the intern program (for a spot in her head office), then with her co-worker the next day. The first woman asked for a sample email (to an organization) and flier. Then a week later, I had an interview with the Office of Public Engagement.

Never had the ‘vitals’ email, but I did get one ‘application in process email’.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

How can we contact the office by phone? Does anyone know the number? Best wishes!

What was the contact number for the Internship office?

202 456 5979

@rayac7 wow, those were a lot of interviews. Good luck!

Has anyone heard anything?

the last thing I herd was on Friday when I got the “vitals” email. They asked that it be returned by 10/31 (today)

Still no vitals. Ahhh I really need to hear today, because otherwise, I have to start submitting apps to my back-ups (two of which have tomorrow as the due date). Obviously if I don’t get it, I’ll have to do that anyway…but if I’ve got it, I hope I won’t have to. I hate withdrawing applications in case you want to apply later to that organization…never want to be remembered as a flaky applicant.

The last e-mail I received was an email for an interview. Like I said before, I received my vitals and APE email about two weeks ago.

If you don’t mind telling us: what department emailed you for an interview? Have they set one up with you yet?
