White House Internship

Hi everyone! I’m new on here and working on my application for Fall 2012. I’m working on my policy memo, and I was wondering whether or not anybody else had references at the bottom of their memo? For example, should I cite where I got my statistics from? Thanks!

Yea i was curious about that too.

Has anyone done that? Or anyone whose been selected in the past?

Policy memos do not need to be footnoted or have a bibliography, but if you use supporting information in a memo, reference the source in the text. For example, you might refer to some research to support an assertion and introduce it this way: “a 2000 study by the Pew Center showed that . . .”

Hope this helps.

Another week and nada, I think next week we HAVE to get the initial email, if not it’s looking pretty scary.

Hi guys,

I am so nervous to hear back from them. I literally have a knot in my stomach every time I think of it.

Trying to keep it positive!

Are you applying for the fall too?

Bruce91,

I’m assuming clearcitrine(sp?) is not since they are waiting to hear back and I’m sure the fall deadline hasn’t happened yet. Let me know if my reasoning is flawed clearcitrine.

Hey whdenver85 and Bruce91,

I applied for Summer 2012. I got their initial letter saying that they had received my application. Every time I hear my phone alert my about an e-mail I get butterflies.

clearcitrine,

when did you apply (submit your application) and when did you get that initial email (date)?

I started my application December 15th, which I thought was pretty late. So I’m not sure which date applies. I got the initial e-mail January 24th. How about you? Are guys from the D.C area?

I submitted the app on Jan. 22nd and I got an email saying they had received it, but not the one talking about rolling admissions and giving feb 20. as a date we hear back…

I don’t if you guys have seen this. Hahaha enjoy

whdenver85 they are probably working through the list. Maybe you will be getting the email sometime this week !

Nala, you’re probably right. It’s just the wait is killing me. But patience is a virtue and i’m learning it… Hope everyone is having a good week.

I’m in your camp too whdenver, you’re not alone!

Well, less than two weeks until notifications begin! I’m sure you guys will hear soon! If not, I’d recommend giving them a call. It can’t hurt, right? Best of luck!

Hey everyone, I applied for the summer program back in november. I had all of my documents, papers, and letters of recs ready before November 14, so I applied a couple of days after.
Good luck to all, I hope we all hear good news!!!

Anyone receive the notification e-mail recently (in the last 2 weeks?)
