Firstly, congratulations! I hope your interview went well. Which department did you interview with? (It’s fine if you don’t want to publish.)

As to when they’ll get back to you: I interviewed last round and they got back to use about 2-3 weeks after. It was a long wait! Don’t hold your breath. :)

chasel, I’m on the same boat! Only thing I got was the processing email two weeks ago, and that’s about it. I asked this before, but didn’t get a response, so I’ll ask again: Is it rude to call/email to inquire?

I don’t think that it’s rude to inquire once about the timeline, but I don’t know that it’ll help. After my interview I emailed the central intern office and asked if there was a general rule for how long it would take for them to notify after an interview and they would only say that everyone will be notified one way or the other eventually.

I haven’t considered doing that, but I don’t think they ask you for any identifying information when you call. If you call from a different phone then it certainly won’t impact your chances at all.

I have called to inquire about vitals and the APE. Of course I got the general response that most of you all have been given. I really don’t think it should hurt your chances if you do call though. They are really nice and assuring. Just something to consider…my friend applied last summer, only received the initial APE, never got a vitals and received an interview in Mid-March. She never heard back after the initial interview and was accepted in late April. So I guess this goes to show that the only consistent thing is that it’s all inconsistent. I hope this was helpful. Don’t loose faith guys!!

Hi all. Been lurking for a while. Earlier this evening I received a call from a high level administrator in the office of the Chief of Staff. By high level, I mean a man who was appointed by the COS and reports to the COS (Jack Lew).

I was stunned, to say the least. I think the interview went incredibly well, although I was totally caught off guard. Anyone have a clue as to what my odds at this point might be? Who usually conducts the interviews? I’m surprised it wasn’t a lower-level assistant.

This wait hurts! Ahhh, it’s like college admissions all over again.

Just converted from a lurker to a poster. =)

I would be elated to receive an offer! rundown: Submitted app on 1/22. Received immediate automated confirmation of submission email. Received APE email on the same day as others on this board (first wave). Received email to schedule interview directly from 1st choice office same day (2 wks ago). interviewer noted no timeline and that I should be patient and await word from the centralized internship office. Still have not received a vitals email (have hope, those of you in the same boat!) before or after my interview. Yet, did visit WH in past year (so presumably SS is on file?) I’m unwilling to post EO component name.

Last year, Friday 3/4 and Monday 3/7 were first known notification days. Is anyone optimistic of notification (either way) today (3/2), Monday (3/5) or next Friday (3/9)? Before I spark a resurgence here, it’s worth reiterating that this process is NEVER uniform - in steps as well as timelines, even within cycles AND OFFICES - so anything could happen… -T

Hey everyone! I actually got an interview today as well. Completely came out of the blue, and I didn’t get any email notification or anything beforehand. The interviewer just asked if I had a few minutes free to answer a few questions, and off we went. So if you get a call from an Unknown Number…feel free to panic!

I called today, and they said they still haven’t dispensed 1/4 of the applications. So it’s going to be a long wait… Good luck! Anyone get rejected yet? I’m trying to see if they’re going to send all of the rejections at the same time.
