Our painter, who we love, swears by Behr premium paints by Home Depot. They will color match all brands (as many of them do anyway). We have a Sherwin Williams store quite near to us so that is our fall back when buying paints ourselves. Have also had BM ! I think you can win - or lose - with brands depending what grade of paint you get. It matters.
We are getting most of the downstairs painted later this month. We’ll be painting the entryway (removing the awful wallpaper finally!), the kitchen, breakfast nook, laundry room, 1/2 bath and family room. The dining room will stay as-is (has a red/gold combination). I am currently leaning towards painting all except for the family room one color. The family room is off to one side - so maybe introducing another color there is ok? The laundry room/1/2 bath are also behind a closed door - so if I really wanted, I could use another color for those two.
Our upstairs rooms are all blue/gray - cool colors. Downstairs have always been “warm” colors - I’d like to continue with that I think. Opinions? Suggestions?
I love color so much but I have learned that I prefer NOT to have too much color or “statement color” on the walls…I prefer to have my color in art, furniture, rugs, accessories. White can still be many things - fresh, cozy, warm!
Is your home open concept, partial open, or are all of these rooms sort of stand alone rooms?
@abasket - the kitchen, breakfast nook and living room are all kind of open to each other. That’s why I was thinking one color for these. Could use the same color for the laundry and half bath as well. Family room is sort of standlone - could do a different color there.
I loved the color you posted earlier in a different thread…
