Whitman and Superscoring

Does anyone know if Whitman superscores? I can't find it anywhere on the website.

Bumpity-bump. :$

They do. I heard it from the mouth of an admissions counselor.

Since Whitman isn't exactly one of the top choices for people on this site, I doubt anybody will know for sure.

If you can't find it on the website, just email the Office of Undergrad Admissions just to be sure. I'm sure they'd be happy to reply to your question. :D

Will do. Thanks :)!

^ Lmao. Did I not sound legit enough?

My apologies.

Here, let me rephrase...

Of the several times I've corresponded with multiple Whitman admissions officers/counselors, they have made it abundantly clear that they do superscore.

Sorry, Joli. Your first post actually sneaked up on me -- I could've sworn it wasn't there earlier. But yes, you do sound very legit. Thank you so much for the information!

sorry to sound stupid...but what exactly does superscoring mean??

Best scores of several taken.....meaning they ignore and drop your lowest scores....to give you the best picture. Most schools do it.....to give YOU the benefit of the doubt.....its not a trick....its simple math.....

THOUGH...they do see ALL of your scores....its a more compassionate methodology. Schools that superscore typically dont use the SAT as their biggest admission factor.

Whitman is a very small school in Walla Walla Washington.....asparagus country. Its highly respected. Chief Justice William O Douglas was a graduate of Whitman. Its a liberal arts college that is HIGHLY competitive but draws mostly from the Northwest and California and some Rocky Mtn. states.

Its a great school. Either you like Southeast Washington State or you dont. Its 6 hours to Seattle and not an easy trek. Its in the corner near Idaho and Oregon. But its a great school, again.

In defense of Whitman:

For followers of US News Top Colleges:

LAC's west of the Mississippi:

The Claremont Consortium in Pomona, California take the top:

Pomona

Claremont McKenna

Harvey Mudd

Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Occidental in Los Angeles

Whitman in Walla Walla Washington

Do not sneeze at Whitman.

"The Claremont Consortium in Pomona, California take the top"

I'm being totally picky but the Claremont Consortium is in Claremont.

Thanks rocket. CC viewers value precision, and I appreciate the correction!

does anyone know if Brown superscores?
