Whitman College Class of 2024

My D also got in Whitman (14k merit) and Willamette (35k). 4.0 uw GPA, 6APs.

I got in w/18 K merit aid, but no financial aid, which makes me sad about my other decisions and their likely chance of having minimal aid.

GPA: Unweighted 3.9-4.0. 4.6-4.8 Weighted. I took almost every AP and Honors class I could take (I give ranges).

Class Rank: Top 10 out of about 550 students.

Test Optional, but score could’ve been submitted.

Extracirriculars: Average within my school.

Essay: 8 or 9 out of 10. I had a former admission officer at a decent CA college read my essay; they enjoyed the story I told.

LORs: Teacher: Above Average. Volunteer Manager (I have very good things noted in my file there, so his letter was optional): Above Average

No interview and demonstrated interest was weak. I applied at the last minute because I realized Walla Walla was bigger than what I had initially thought.

I might go to one of the admitted student days in CA, so maybe I’ll meet some of you there.

Good luck to everyone on the remainder of their decisions.

Waitlisted.

Better than expected, actually. Expected a denial. My first waitlist. 12 acceptances elsewhere, including fantastic merit at Allegheny and Juniata. Still disappointed - such a gorgeous campus and seems like a really supportive and happy environment. Off to write a LOCI, I guess. Congrats to all who got in!
