<p>Daughter has visited and likes both schools, wants to potentially major in math or a physical science. Any insights to the strength and reputations of their programs?
(She has been accepted by both, and cost is similar).</p>
<p>If she has no clear cut preference for the social fit or location of one over the other, and the cost is the same, I’d say Whitman. As a mom whose son chose Whitman over Willamette, I’d say he did it because of the academic rigor, and higher retention and graduations rates. The physical sciences are especially good at Whitman and son is majoring in interdisciplinary Geology/Physics. </p>
