Ok, humor me here…how do Whitman and Dartmouth compare in terms of devotedness to students and quality of life?

DISREGARDING the name or cost of the college, because I’m pretty sure I can get a quality education in both, which institution do you think has a better quality of student life? The thing about Dartmouth is, most of the students there seem extremely happy, but the huge presence of Greek life leaves me wary. I don’t drink and I don’t party hard; but I don’t spend my life in the library either and I’m not anal over schoolwork. Dartmouth’s surroundings, especially its close proximity ot nature, is extremely attractive to me, but I hear Whitman offers just as quality and happy a student life without the bitter cold.

Also, what’s the financial situation in both once you’re in? For example, I hear that Williams students don’t have to pay for much once they’re in, but Cornellians are nickel-and-dimed to death? How is it in Dartmouth or Whitman?
