who am i competing with????

i’m taking the AP tests this year…in South Korea. Who am i competing with? What i know is that the grades, from 1 to 5, are distributed according to certain percentiles(am i right?). How big is the group I’m in? Is it by country? or am i competing with everyone else in the world?

Sometimes you’re ahead, and sometimes you’re behind, but in the end, you were only in a race with yourself

AP isnt really about competition. AP is just about getting college credit.

AP scores are not based on percentiles. You aren’t competing against others. Your score is based solely on the number of points you get in each individual test.

eh?!
aha!
so when they say a score of 5 is like >60%, it means you need to get at least 60% of the questions?
now i understand~~~~~!!!
i was sorta confused:-P
thanks y’all!!!

Haha yeah, 60% of the questions right. My chem teacher makes super duper hard tests (like the AP chem exam) and uses the AP chem conversion chart. So if you get an A on one of her tests, it’s equivalent to a 5 on the AP. But each test only covers a couple chapters, so they’re actually a little harder than the AP exam (she uses AP questions and adds some challenging ones). She says if you get A’s on her tests you should get a 5 on the exam, which makes sense.

Um ok that was kinda irrelevant.
