Granny,
Transcripts are too needed for EA; three things are needed (in addition to the app): SAT, transcript, rigor of study form from counselor. An app w/ out a transcript will not be considered; it’s incomplete.

I applied EA on 10/8, still haven’t heard back. My stats: 4.0 GPA Weighted, 3.7 Unweighted, 1200 SAT, 28 ACT. Right now UGA is jockeying with South Carolina as my second choice behind PSU.

Having done this EA thing 12 months ago w/ son #1 I can state with some certainty that no one will hear until 12/15. That is the posted date, and that is when we will all hear. On that date, you can log onto the UGA website, check the admission status, and get a message like: if you are not at a computer where you can handle news, good or bad, you might want to log in later at a more private location. Then you will confirm again. Then, you will hit the button, then, if all the stars and planets are aligned just right, you will see fireworks on your screen (no kidding!! really!!) and the word “CONGRATULATIONS!!” I know of many of son’s friends who were admitted EA, but NONE before 12/15.

@grtskt89: wow, i never knew that before.
22 more days to go. “I’ll be surprised if you’re deferred to RD”, said a UGA representative to me. Do you think he’s a newbie? Should I believe him? Anyway, I should believe in myself. I’ll be happy to be accepted either EA or RD

That is a surprising statement from a rep, considering your SAT is below 1300. However, for you to score so high on CR given you’ve been in the US a short time is quite remarkable. What I wonder is how they know all that on EA? EA is just numbers; RD is where all the details of your life come out. For example, I don’t expect my son to get EA; his SAT is only 1290. However, when they look at his EC’s, I think he’s in (captain of team, Eagle scout, etc.). UGA is a backup; he’s already accepted to West Point, but in case of injury he needs a backup. Good luck to all of you.

thank you mom3boys
When I applied, I certainly chose Pre-Bus but my online application check said it’s Pre-Med. They did send me a form shortly after I applied to correct possible errors. I did correct it to Pre-Bus. Now it still said my major is Pre-Med. Any idea?

Edited: I’m sorry, it’s still listed as Pre-Bus/Mgnt but in Franklin College of Art and Science. I did change it to college of Business (i forgot its name). Isn’t this weird?

Are you really mom of three sons? Sorry, I’m just curious and jealous too. Had my mom had such knowledge and worried about her son’s college like you, I could have been more relieved. She worries about me but in different ways. My mom is still the one I love the most in the world though ;)

The 15th is so close! I can smell it! I’m not really expecting good news though. Here are my stats (just the numbers)…

SAT
Math-620
Verbal-600

Class rank 39/459
GPA 3.75 UW, 3.85 W
4 AP’s senior year
6 Honors classes 9-11

I’m pretty ticked about the 1300 SAT for EA. I was close. Even though I know I don’t have a great chance at EA, I’m still keeping my fingers crossed!
