who buys clothes from Zulily?

Just saw a Zulily ad on Facebook for a peplum hoodie made by Doublju. There are no reviews of the peplum hoodie on Zulily’s website that I can find, and when I looked for Zulily reviews in general, they were pretty bad – low quality of fabric, strict (or no?) returns, etc. It looks like Doublju is the maker of this hoodie but I can’t find any reviews on it either.

The peplum hoodie looks so cute and would be great for our niece whose name we drew for Christmas. Plus it’s only $15 … but now that I think about it, that price should tell me something …

I have ordered for my daughter from them and I would say it is hit or miss. When you have to return an item you have to pay to ship it back. My recommendation would be to find a gift from a store where you would be able to get a gift receipt should she decide to return or exchange the item.

It takes a long time to receive the item (at least 3 weeks or more) because they first have to receive it from the vendor and then ship it to you. The clothes we got were ok but I don’t expect them to last many years.

I personally don’t plan to continue to order any clothes from them. I think you can find better quality clothes at Target.

I bought an item once, it was a name brand and it was fine, but no better deal than I’d gotten other places on that brand. I then began looking at some kids clothes, realized I did not know the brands and in Googling found they were Wal-Mart/K-mart level. It also took forever to get the item, I think you order from Zulilly, they order from the maker and get a batch shipment, then they ship to you. I won’t likely try them again.

As a larger sized person, I have found their clothing runs small. But, quality is OK

I’ve bought clothing for my grandchildren from Zulily.

First, the quality of the clothing depends on the brand you buy. I’ve bought Hanna Anderson clothing from them , for example, and it’s just like any other clothing from the same company. It does have some “house brands” which often run a little small. You can also choose to be notified if a particular vendor’s things become available. (I am notified any time they have Hanna Anderson clothing available.)

I suspect that sometimes you’re getting last season’s merchandise. Since my preschool granddaughter doesn’t care as long as it’s pink, I don’t either. Hanna Anderson has great sales but sometimes they will tell you you’ve bought things and notify you 3 or 4 days later that it’s out of stock. That’s most annoying when you could have gotten something similar if HA’s inventory system had worked correctly or if you’d known when all the other sales for Labor Day or whatever were still going on.I have never been notified after the fact by Zulilly that I won’t be getting an item I’ve ordered. I’ve never NOT had that experience during a HA sale.

Second, Zulilly ships a few different ways. If it’s something has to be gotten from a vendor, it does take about 3 weeks. However, you lcan ook under the tab “shop by category” and choose the tab “ready to ship.” You should get these items in 6-8 business days at most—I’ve had it take less. Each item also says whether it’s in stock or has to be ordered. A LOT of items cannot be returned; some can. IMO, it’s very clear on the website which are which.

Hope that helps.

ETA if looks like Doublju is sold by Amazon and Walmart, so you could check ratings there.

I won’t order from them nymore because the few times I have, shipping has been awful. If you ordered tonight I wouldn’t be shocked if you didn’t have it by Christmas!

I bought some tunics - they looked really pretty in the pictures. They took forever to come - weeks. The fabric was just awful so I returned them. Got charged a fee to return them. No refund, just a credit. I ended up buying some t-shirts just to use the credit up. I like the t-shirts well enough but probably wouldn’t have bought them if I didn’t have to. Doubt I’d order from them again.

I think when they started out you could get some real bargains. Now, most of the clothing is obviously manufactured (cheaply) for them. I still check them out for real name brand bargains though. Once in a while I get a “hit” but not like in the early days. Just my experience over several years.

I gave up on then after my Oofos flip flops took forever to ship.

Thanks, all. I didn’t realize at first that Zulily wasn’t its own brand. I did look up reviews on Doublju as @jonri suggested. Had to search a bit for the peplum hoodie but did find it and the reviews were not good. So I’m abandoning this idea and just sticking with niece’s items on her wish list.

Never again. I too ordered some tunics which took forever to arrive and then looked NOTHING like pictured and were quite cheaply made. Straight to the donation bin.

The whole site seems to cater to granola crunching, Earth-loving, comfy dressing, organic kind of a crowd, but their products (unless it is known brand name) are anything but that.
