Who cried?!

^i think that happened to a lot of people…with the 25 in science

^^ yeah, that’s basically what happened to me! Science is a load of crap. Each time I’ve taken the ACT, my science score has gone up and down like a roller coaster- 25->33->27 ?!?!?! and even practice tests it’s been 35->29->25

This was my first try with the ACT and when I saw my score I almost screamed, and my mom thought I got a bad grade, but I started crying because I really didn’t believe how well I did. I’m one of those people who did significantly better on the ACT than the SAT and certainly a lot of stress fell off my shoulders about college applications in the fall.

RahoulVa - You’re on the right track on ACT testing skills. I bought myself a princeton review book and I think their tips really helped me. In the reading section I did not “read”. I went straight to the questions and looked for the answers in the passage. I basically read as I answered. That gave me a 36 on reading.
On science, the book suggested to totally skip the introductions in science because they usually don’t have any useful information. I did that, and only went back to them when I couldn’t find an answer in the charts. That gave me a 34.

Twiz- I was in the same boat as you with the critical reading (also had a 610). I was worried because that is below the middle 50% range of almost every school I planned on applying to, and I was ecstatic that the reading score on the ACT completely outshines that 610 haha. Though I don’t think you have to retake it just because of the science. If you’re a strong science student, the admissions officers will see that in your transcript. You did very well! (I couldn’t remember viscosity either. All I knew was that it was something with how well a liquid flows.)

i didn’t cry, but i’m disappointed. I got a 28, my goal is just a 30, is it even possible for me to go up?? the last time i took it, i got a 26.

I didn’t cry but definitely experienced shocked happiness and relief.

Yay composite 33!!!

I missed out on this… I took the ACT but no one here really takes it, so I didn’t know what my score meant. I was waiting on my SAT scores to be posted (still waiting actually)… And I just decided to go check ACT in case and I got a 33. I was like “I got a 33… What does that mean?”

Now I feel jipped out on my victory. Maybe tomorrow I’ll celebrate.

i was mad that science brought me down a point to 33. I mean, science is what i’m best at. there’s no way the ACT guys know what they’re talking about.

Dude getting 36 was one of the best feelings ever… It’s like one of the biggest reliefs that I have ever had

are most ppl on cc getting above 30?..lol isnt that like the 97ish percentile?

Yeah… I got a 30 and that is the 97% so everyone else who is getting above thirty is even higher.
