Who else can't wait?

Who else can’t wait to see if they get acceptance by late january?!

I know I can’t. I’ve been checking my e-mail/mail for the past week even though I know notification doesn’t come for awhile.

oh my goodness me too! Though I don’t have my interview (I’m applying for theatre so I’m on a different schedule for those, I think) for another two weeks, I’m really, really hoping to hear back soon! My ACT’s definitely high enough, I don’t know if my SAT is, but… yeah. I’d like to know! Haha I’m such a classic senior… :)

I’m pretty sure if your ACT is high enough they’ll mostly disregard the SAT, but yeah I’m definitely in the same position, I’m so excited. With my recent 33 on my ACT (improving from a 28) and a 3.91 and all A’s 7th semester, I’d find it very surprising to be rejected, but I’m still checking back almost every day lol.

Just to think. Right now in Kentucky it’s in the 20’s degrees farenheit… Exactly one year from now it’ll be in the 70’s and sunny… Ahhh I can’t wait!

Senioritis is hitting us all hard lol.

I’m so nervous to hear back, with 25 kids applying from my school it’s soooo nerve-racking, I’m starting to dislike the other kids haha jk

ah I think there’s only one, maybe two other kids from my school applying, and to CLAS (I’m applying to Theatre), so I’m lucky there. My SATs aren’t bad at all, just my ACTs are better. Plus getting one of the scholarships would be great, too. :D

Merit scholarships are late January, am I right? And I can’t wait either. Hurry up already!!

My stats are pretty competitive, within the 25 applying I’m probably top 7-8, but if we are all qualified maybe they accept the top 8  lol I’ve heard of them taking 15/30 from a school in Cali

I don’t think they are against taking so many from one school, especially if you’re all qualified, if your stats match up or are better than average, you have nothing to worry about.

I logged onto the site a minute ago and saw: “The University of Southern California is pleased to offer…” and almost had a heart attack, but then I finished the sentence, and it was just the standard “The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application.” :frowning: Haha.

Do you have to earn a scholarship to be accepted in late January or is it pretty much random?

Aren’t decisions sent by mail?

norcalryan, the general schedule for notification can be found in post #10 of the FAQ for USC admissions thread.

January/February notifications have, in the past, been for Trustee/Presidential candidates, BA/MD combined program candidates, and students who are later awarded the Dean’s scholarship. The vast majority of acceptances are in March. Rejections are late March/early April.

Good luck!

soadquake981, yes, in the past all notifications have been by mail.

I am SO NERVOUS. I have a 32 ACT and 3.87 UW GPA, but my class rank is 100/494. That is what I’m worried about.

^ my school doesn’t rank, score!!..where is the spot where I can report 7th semester grades online?

^if you log in to the application there will be a link at the bottom that says “report mid-year grades online” or something like that.
