Who else is walking in blind?

I’ve never been to LA and won’t be there until August 16th (18th?), the move in day.

I live in smack middle of nowhere, (AKA Oklahoma… right above texas) and it takes too much money for me to travel there for just few days…

I would visit during the summer for orientation but unfortunately, I’m going to be in a completely different country during the summer…

Is anybody else in a same situation with me? From what i heard, i don’t think i’m going to be dissapointed, but perhaps shocked…

You have to visit orientation because its mandatory. They give you placement exams and you also register for classes at these sessions ($140 for new students).

Orientation isn’t mandatory. You can take the placement tests and register during welcome week (aka in August)

I don’t go to LA very often, so I don’t know the city very well either…we can be lost together, if it makes you feel any better :)

I was mistaken. Just read the site again and yes, it’s not mandatory but recommended because you can register for classes before actually starting college.

i’m pretty much walking in blind, but i’m uber-excited!!!

My son has been driven around the campus & we’ve visited LA several times (family & friends live an hour away). He has never been on campus & won’t set foot on campus until he arrives in August to move into his dorm. He will attend the HI orientation 5/20, take placement tests & register then.

I’m walking in blind too. I’ve only been to LA twice, once when i was six and the other when i was nine. I bascially have no memory of the city. On top of that, I’ve only been to the States five times in my entire life. I’m from Singapore

Completely blind. Never even been to Cali…

Half-blind! I’ve been to LA several times but I’ve never been anywhere near the USC campus, so I don’t know anything and I can’t visit anytime soon. But who cares? The pictures look cool.

Yup join the ‘neverbeentocali’ club… I’m still super excited though

I bet its much more different than Oklahoma.

LOL pretty sure about that. Well, I lived outside of OKlahoma plenty so its not going to be that surprising, I hope (I lived in NY, TX, and Korea)

^ You won’t be too lost. Koreatown is freaking HUGE…it’s practically like you’re in Korea. Except with nicer weather.

I heard that from my friend who went there during the summer… >.< Because its so huge, wouldn’t that just contribute my lostness…??

Yeah, K-town is pretty big. And it’s only a 5-minute bus ride up Vermont.

Korea town is awesome. Very nice malls, lots of shopping and produce stores, and everyone speaks Korean so you’ll do just fine. :)

No don’t worry uyulove, it’s lovely! It’s my favorite place in the world because the food is so good haha I’ll go with you to K-town sometime if you want!

my ex lives in LA, and he was telling me about korea town.

apparently that’s where he’s getting my fake ID so i can go to the 1920s club.

haha.

hahaha well, I don’t know about fake ID’s, but I imagine that the fake ID business is fairly booming in LA in general :)

1920s club?? Like…a club based on the 20’s? Flappers, etc.?
