after writing all that, i realize the difference makes it pretty obvious, but i wrote it all. waste not want not and all that.

1? I think? Maybe…lol

I’ll go with 3. lol, gotta love these kinds of things…

This is a tough one.

1 and 3 are basically the same grade-wise. They both seem committed extra-curricularly. 1 doesn’t seem to have any leadership roles, and 3 has two that you stated.

The only thing I see going for 2 is TASP, which probably only gives a slight advantage. I would doubt that it’s enough to compensate for his inferior academics to the other two candidates.

Assuming 1 has some leadership that you forgot to state, I think he got in. If he didn’t have leadership, then I’d say that 3 got in.

fingers crossed

silverturtle: that was how i reasoned it at the time.

if it helps, #3 applied SCEA, the other two applied RD

any other takers?

I’m gunna go out on a limb and say #2.

pm me the answer!

Just for the heck of it, I’ll go with Person 2 since the admissions process has been totally crazy this year.

I’m going 3.

It’s OBVIOUSLY #2.

lol

Person #2…

I say #2 and that 1&3 are really ****ed

so that’s

1 - 1

2 - 5

3 - 3

interesting…

EDIT: lol @ 3.7student

2 I think; please PM me the answer.

yeah^^^^^ me 2

Answer time!

I’ll go with #2.

From what I’ve seen, low-ish income applicants with stats that are comparable to higher income applicants are viewed very favorably.

Which one had an impressive individual achievement outside of school? I don’t know if Dream Builders fits the bill, but TASP does. So I think the answer is 2.

Dream Builders is a program run by the local Ford dealership, I think it’s in its 20th year, something like that. It’s a yearlong business leadership/community service program. Membership is competitive, they only take a few kids from each school in the city. The members are then broken up into groups that do various community service projects with a given budget. #1’s group did a project with elementary school kids on environmental awareness, and they made musical instruments out of recycled materials. Each group comes up with its own project and makes a presentation on it to the directors of the program. It is a MASSIVE commitment of time (which is why I didn’t apply for it, it would have been way too much for me). Dunno much about TASP, other than that the participants do a research project on some topic, and attend seminars and the like.

And yes, it was #2.

Now that that’s said, let’s play another game! Which of those same three got into UCLA?

again, #2.
