It says that in the first 24 hours after the Common App went online last year, 1943 profiles were created from 47 states and 63 countries, and one person submitted an application and a supplement within the first 24 hrs.

This year, in the first 24 hours, 3064 profiles were created from all 50 states and 76 countries, and 19 people have already submitted apps, with 9 supplements.

Now, this was just the first 24 hours. I’m sure many more people have submitted to colleges since then. Anyone here already done that? Why??

people want to apply early so that they can get to know their results early
schools release the admission decisions over a period of time
for example, 10-15/12 for ED1
so if you apply early, you may know your result on 10, instead of 15

that’s what I guess, haha
anw, i haven’t applied yet…
i think i’ll probably finish and send in my application during mid-Oct

The early applicants are most likely athletes. They have to get it in ASAP so admissions can give it an early read. This way coaches know if they have a chance at the college. And also if they should spend the money inviting them for an official visit,…etc etc.
