Who has taken both SSAT and SAT?

I learned this formula from somewhere and has been wondering if it is true.

It goes: if you take SSAT and SAT within a month and no extra preparation for SAT, your SAT score will be roughly 300 points below your SSAT score.

Today,I learn my son’s SAT score, yes it is almost exactly 300 below his SSAT!

So I am asking for other’s experience. :)

i took SSAT in december, and i got 2235.

i just received my SAT score today, which is 2010…

Yup. minus 100 per section seems about right with my son, but he took the SAT at the beginning of 7th grade, if that makes a difference. I’m only thinking of the Math and Critical reading sections. There’s not really an equivalent to the SAT writing on the SSAT, but the CR section has both the reading and vocab that the ssat covers.

i took sat last yr and ssat this year and my scores were very different. 500 point difference. it might be because im not in the grade where most people take the sat

I took both, but I really gotta find my SSAT scores. Also, the last time I took SAT was in 7th grade. For practice of course.

I have taken the SSAT and SAT and I am pretty sure the SAT was 200+ points or more lower. I took the SAT in 7th grade and SSAT in 8th grade.

I took ssat and sat this year. did well on ssat but absolutely bombed sat(60 percentile :frowning: )
