Who has the weakest academic credentials on CC?

Almost everyone on CC seems to be in the top 5% of their class but are there any like me:

3.25 GPA
24 ACT (retaking in September pulling for a 28)

Also where are you applying

Oh I thought it was going to be me with my 2350 SAT and 3.95 GPA :frowning:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-confidential-cafe/274425-average-people-club.html

Hey relax1020 are captain of your Varsity Wrestling team and were you in the running for prom king did you even go to prom? Have you even been on date? I bet not. Losers like you should be banned from life.

Also I tried last semester and got a 3.7

lmao
FYI, zetterberg, the fact that you “were nominated for prom king” means absolutely ZERO in the grand scheme of life. Who the f*** cares? Being intelligent is way more important than going to prom hahahaha.

And, in case you were wondering, I was up for prom king too, and was also starting point guard on my varsity basketball team, while maintaining a 4.0, so don’t think I don’t know what I’m talking about! :)

I agree with you on all of that being nominated or even going to proms means absolutely nothing in life. But using the same logic no one gives a ***** if you get a 4.0 either I mean most billionaires didnt even graduate college so if your relax1020 dont talk about my school record because I dont care what kind of grades you get.

o and FYI wrestling is men do during boys basketball season
(i apologize if your not relax1020 his response just kind of ****ed me off)

Wow. “…most billionaires didn’t even graduate college.” …care to back that assertion up with ANY sort of verifiable proof? I would be willing to bet me life AND my afterlife (lolz) on the inaccuracy of that ridiculous statement.

Sure…maybe some didn’t, but I guarantee you that most did.

First off, you guys really need to calm down, last thing we need is you two in a virtual fight. I can see it now, Zetterberg punches his monitor and relax bunches his monitor afterwards. Stupid.

Yes you can get into a respectable school with a 3.25, and yes there are members on this website pulling a B average. I do believe students with a 3.0 are less prone to come on a website and discuss academics, however that is not the case for everyone.

Sir Richard Benson worth 8.6 Billion dropout at age 16
Dean Kamen dropout of Worcester Poly
Bill Gates worth 58 Billion
Paul Allen 18 Billion
Ralph Lauren 3.6 Billion
Steve Jobs 5.7 Billion
Larry Ellison 18.4 Billion
Michael Dell 17 Billion
Kirk Kerkorian 18 Billion

all dropouts need i go on

Zetterberg, don’t come to the conclusion that college is wasting your time. College is both a great learning experience academically and socially. While the people you had mentioned are indeed true college dropouts, the ratio of college dropouts to billionaires compared to that of college graduates that are billionaires varies greatly in favor of college graduates. Besides, a college degree does provide some financial security in the future if you don’t create that billion dollar idea.

Bill Gates was an excellent student and went to Harvard before dropping out, so I’m betting his GPA in high school was 3.9-4.0.

Steve Jobs got into Reed, another selective college. So his high school grades had to be high.

Michael Dell went to UT-Austin before dropping out, yet another unviersity that is impossible to get into with anything below a 3.7.

Ralph Lauren designs clothes. Woman. haha

Wow… there are so many quotes to use I’m having trouble picking… Let’s start with the most egregious:

Hmm… hookem, this should seem familar to you, but

How about this:
Source: ■■■■■■■■■■■■■
UT Austin 25th - 75th percentile:
3.7 - 4.0

That means 25% students at UT-Austin got accepted with a GPA under 3.7. It is not “impossible” if 1 in 4 of the students did it…

Also, you need to move past the belief that grades are the only thing that gets you into college. Yes, of course they are important but other things are factored in as well. You made fun of the fact that he was nominated for Prom King, but failed to see that getting to that point would require at least some social skills, which are important in life, college, and therefore in college admissions. On top of that you completely overlooked the fact that he is captain of his wrestling team? That shows commitment and leadership. Do not talk down to people whom you perceive as less than what they are. Relax1020, I know many people that probably had a lower GPA that tried hard. Sorry we can’t all be as smart as you want… maybe they have other good qualities like… not being condescending?

Zetterberg, I’m not gonna lie, having a low GPA will hurt your chances of getting into a better college, but that means you should try to pull up the other aspects of your application so you can get into the best college possible giving your situation. With enough research and effort, you’ll get into a fine school. And a 3.25 isn’t that low either… what is that a B/B+ average? I guarantee you there are many more people on this forum with lower stats.

Note: I will not end my post with a qualification that I need to share with everyone so they think I’m credible and awesome, sorry.

I can’t find the actual numbers, but Reed was not so selective in 1972 compared to today. As late as 2001 72% of applicants were admitted, whereas the number today is about 32%. But clearly Steve Jobs is plenty smart!
