Who Has Used A Pie Bird...Or Your Other Favorite Pie Accessory??

A pie carrier is a good idea. That’s the one longaberger basket I still have and use. Mine is two layers.
It makes it easy to carry pies in the car without worrying about them.

I love this for rolling fragile pastry that has a tendency to break before you can get it into the dish:

https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Grips-Silicone-Dough-Rolling/dp/B079D7XHBM/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1XNE9S97R0VHB&keywords=silicon+dough+rolling+bag&qid=1554337209&s=gateway&sprefix=silicon+dough+%2Caps%2C181&sr=8-2

You can turn fragile dough into the pan by placing the pan upside down on the dough and flipping over with one hand under the bag and one on top of the plate.

+1 to Emile Henry pie plates. The crust just bakes up better.

EH is wonderful products. But… Please do not other EH bakeware online. It will be shipped quadruple-boxed! What a waste of pulp. Buy it in the store.

I will keep the EH pie plate in mind for a future gift for him (provided he sticks around… )

I needed to order Amazon to have the gift arrive by Saturday - I ended up getting the Le Creuset pie bird in the blue Marseille color (Marseille has special meaning in D and BF’s relationship), an adjustable crust saver and a mug that references Pi (pie)/Math/Pie - because in addition to loving pie he’s a recent doctoral in math!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I also learned quite a bit about pie accessories!
