I was wondering who here took a course for your SATs?

I couldn’t afford one, at all. It sucked, but oh well such is life.

i kept putting the SATs out of my mind until last spring, when i had absolutely no free time to take a class… and oh boy it shows in my scores. thank god for the ACT.

:-( that makes me really sad, if only i could afford an SAT class. So I know how you feel. I took the ACT too, but I have ADHD, and need extended time, but I forgot to submit the forms for it, and as a result did badly.

i took the kaplan course…it was REALLY stupid (sometimes the teacher didn’t know how to do some of the math problems and so I would have to do them), but it was actually REALLY helpful. All of the practice tests I was getting in the 17- and 1800s, but on the actual test I got in the 2000s. They really build up your neck muscles in that class and the tests that they give are harder than the actual SAT. And the tips that they give you are really helpful. I would suggest taking it.

I can’t afford it 1500 dollars though! that’s the problem.

mine was only like 700 or 800

That’s still a lot of money for my family.

Here is my advice. I didn’t take a course and did fine (1500/2210). I didn’t actually study a whole lot but here is what you need to do. Buy a book and practice. Really go slowly and break down the problems and try to understand the reason why each is right. All of the problems are pretty much repeated year after year except the numbers and words use are changed. The Kaplan book is pretty solid.

I don’t know if you were looking for advice or just to vent, but that is my advice.
