Who is more likely to be accepted to an Ivy?

<p>Who is more likely to be accepted? A student at the toughest state university with a 3.3-3.6 or a student at a community college with a 3.7-4.0?</p>

<p>Neither, the student with a 4.0 from the toughest state university will be accepted. Sad to think about but it’s true. Ivy’s don’t have room for all students so why compromise between the two?</p>

<p>In all honesty an applicant can have a great GPA from a tough school but they need more than that to be accepted. As it cliche as it sounds, an applicant needs an intangible, something that sets him/her apart from the crowd. GPA isn’t one.</p>

<p><em>sigh</em> Honestly, people should look beyond transferring to Ivies. There is a LOT of ground between the ivies and most public colleges
If you’re set on transferring, a 3.3-3.6 will probably not get you in, though it might if there’s something VERY special about you.<br>
They want to see transfer applicants who have goals they are passionate about, and have pursued thoroughly. That includes having an excellent GPA, but goes beyond it.</p>

<p>I’m actually a student with 3.82 GPA from the toughest state university, but I decided to not apply but I don’t think I have a chance.</p>
