I love the carpool karaoke and as a musical theater fan the recent Broadway one really stands out. I don’t stay up late that often but when I do catch the Late Late show I really like James Corden. I saw him on Broadway years ago in One Many Two Guvnors and he was great so I’m really looking forward to the Tonys this weekend.
@walkinnghome, thanks for crosswalk Broadway. I didn’t know about this. They are hilarious.
This one is Phantom of the Opera.
I hope James Corden doesn’t get run over.
@dstark now that you like Adele you might like the tiny desk concert she did. http://www.npr.org/event/music/133687905/adele-tiny-desk-concert
Love love LOVE the carpool karaoke. The Broadway group has been making the Facebook rounds. It’s fabulous!
@mathmom, that tiny desk concert was great. Adele has a great personality. Thanks.
Did you catch this one, @dstark?
^^^^^That grapple session was epic!
The crosswalk musicals are done outside his studio in Los Angeles - I’ve seen Grease and the Lion King so far, definitely need to see the rest.
I wish he would keep his hands on the wheel when he’s driving, though. There was an awful lot of talent in the car with him on the Broadway one.
How do they film them? Is he actually driving? (@JHS I was so nervous watching him drive around Manhattan with all of that talent in the car that I had trouble focusing on the singing!) And they have a million camera angles, I just can’t figure out the logistics of it (sorry if I’m spoiling the magic!)
With the exception of a couple of songs (and covers), I’m not a fan of Adele’s music.
But I love Adele: the working-class accent; the pudginess; the beauty; the private life she keeps, well, private; the I don’t-give-a-“hoot”-what-you-think-of-me attitude; and, of course, that VOICE.
@mathmom, thanks for the tiny desk concert. Love the mention that she couldn’t get a visa to the US!
@JHS - Here’s an article on how it’s done: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-01-16/ever-wondered-how-james-cordens-carpool-karaoke-is-actually-filmed—without-him-crashing
Corden really is driving the car, but “first of all, we don’t take routes that are difficult,” explains Winston, adding that Corden is far from alone on the road: “He’s also got two of our cars ahead of him, and three cars behind him — essentially, a convoy.”
And Corden’s not driving fast either. “He’s moving at under 20 miles an hour, and we don’t let any other cars around him.”
“The second thing is, the cameras are tiny,” he tells Vulture. “They’re about the size of your knuckle, and they’re [stuck on] the windshield. So it doesn’t really distract his view. That’s how we do it.”
When I’ve watched these videos, I always reflect on how talented of a singer Corden is for someone who isn’t a singer. Goes to show how many Hollywood types are a bit of a “triple threat” when if they don’t make their living utilizing those particular skills. A lot of comedians are pretty good singers. (or maybe most people are decent singers and I’m just jaded by my family who definitely lacks singing talent. When it’s time to sing Happy Birthday at a family gathering it’s painful, yours truly included.)
It also reminds me how intelligent Corden and other comedians are, with their quick wits and range of knowledge.
I LOVE Janes Coeden and LOVE Carpool Karaoke! Just saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers one today. Very fun!
In addition to Carpool Karaoke I also enjoyed James Corden’s parents exploring the NFL (at a game in London) and their trip to the Super Bowl. His parents are very cute.
His parents are so sweet! Thanks for sharing @tx5athome !
I love him and the Karaoke he does with those singers. My favorite is actually with JLo when he was playing with her iphone and he started texting her friends.

I read some where that it is not that much fun to film those karaoke because they are not allowed to have a lot of AC because it is not good for the sound.
Does anyone know when the one with Michelle Obama is going to air? I believe they have already filmed it from the publicity I saw on CBS This Morning.
I watch on utube when it is someone I am interested in. It is very enjoyable and creative.
