Who is your doppleganger?

Jamie Lee Curtis…I think it’s the hair.

One of my sons apparently looks like some prince from an animated movie. His friends got him to pose like a picture they had and it is pretty funny.

My brother happened to move to the same small town where an actor from a kid’s show grew up, and people are always mistaking my brother for the guy (“Great to see you back in town!”). Well, he does sort of look like the actor used to look, but the guy is about 20 years older than my brother.

I was told that I looked like Meryl Streep when she was my age. The guy probably needed new glasses.

I don’t think I have a doppelgänger, but if I had a nickel for every time I heard that my dad looks like Denzel Washington, I would have like $17.85.

When I was in my 20’s (many years ago now), I was told a couple of times I looked like Heather Locklear. I think it was the hair cut and blue eyes. I was also told once I looked like Melody Thomas Scott. Who? Yeah, I had to google her name. She’s the long time actress on Young and the Restless.

When I met my husband in college, he bore a striking resemblance to Robbie Benson, but they look nothing alike now.

And I look even less like Heather Locklear. :((

I know exactly who Melody Thomas Scott is…The Young and the Beautiful was my soap for years and years. She is very pretty.

There was the young man a few years ago that worked at the CVS I normally frequent. He sounded JUST LIKE Obama. It was bizarre. I finally had to ask him if people tell him that all the time and he said yes.

Isabella Rossellini.
After being stopped by a stranger in the mall, who was the umpteenth person to tell me I look like her, I decided I guess I do. Don’t have the accent, though, :), and I don’t like wearing men’s suits.

I loved Isabella Rossellini in Cousins!

Apparently Natalie Wood - as a child EVERYONE used to say it. True story - in the mid 80s I was working at a chic restaurant in Santa Monica as their house accountant. Many celebrities liked to be seen there. One lunchtime I was walking down the stairs, and Robert Wagner was walking up (he was with another gent, probably an agent or something). As we got closer, he was actually staring at me. I smiled and said something feeble like good afternoon (he was crazy handsome). As we began to pass one another, he gently reached for my left arm and stopped me. He just kept staring at me. Then, almost inaudibly, he said, “It’s unbelievable. You look just like her.” I must have given him a funny look, because he quickly composed himself apologized, and then said “you look just like my wife Natalie did when I met her.” He apologized again for stopping me, and we went our separate ways. Later that evening I called my mom to tell her the story, and she said she wasn’t the least bit surprised because as a child I was constantly being compared to Natalie Wood. I don’t know what compelled me, but I looked in the Almanac (no Internet then! ) and learned that Natalie Wood and I share a birthday…only 20 years apart!

My D as a child was constantly being compared to Darla Hood (Little Rascals) - crazy coincidence is that Ms. Hood died on my D’s birthday (only 9 years before she was born).

@"just"aMom…that gives me the chills. You really must look just like her for RW to be taken aback. Love Santa Monica…visited for the first time last summer.

Ooh, Isabella Rossellini and Natalie Wood. Two of the most beautiful women ever, IMHO. Good for you two!

Wow, @aMom, what a story. I bet RW’s heart almost stopped when he saw you. I wonder if he slept well that night…

I was watching the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral and I kept thinking the Hugh Grant character reminded me of someone. I mentioned it to my W on the way out of the theater. She said of course, your youngest brother. I never saw the similarity before watching that movie and I did know of Hugh Grant.

However, my brother never ended dated Elizabeth Hurley.

When younger, I sort of looked like Katherine Ross, or Kelly McGillis. Minus the beautiful.

My BIL is a deadringer for Bruce Willis–even as they both age, the resemblance is startling. Face, gestures, voice, everything. When Moonlighting first came out, everyone who knew BIL were astounded by the resemblance.

and his D looks just like Kesha.

This topic comes up every couple years or so on CC. . . I’ve been told I look like: Jodi Foster, Susan Sarandon, Olivia Newton John, Michelle Pfeiffer (H is legally blind), and an actress named Lucy Deakins. She was in an 80s movie called The Boy Who Could Fly. If you google photos of her, there are a couple of her wearing a gray/white plaid shirt. The close-up one looks SO much like me when I was young–except my eyes are blue-- I could pass this off as my photo–to my sibs or anyone who knew me back then. I would agree that I look(ed) sort of like Jodi Foster. The others not so much. Creepy thing–when one of my sons was about 13, he looked like Jodi Foster in the old Freaky Friday. Another son looks just like Ellar Coltrane in Boyhood. (Same kid also looks like a very young Mick Jagger). H has been told he looks like Stephen Colbert and Tom Hanks. If you could mix about 2/3 Colbert and 1/3 Hanks, that would be H. Oldest D looks like a young Maureen O’Hara.

My brother looks like an Osmond brother. I do not look like Marie.

I look like my sibs. Older sis’ friends would mistake me for her. In some photos I look like my kid sis. My D looks like her cousin who is 2 years older. My mom looked like her sis and folks would say they were surprised she was in town, since sis lived on a neighbor island. None of us look like any celebrities.

John Belushi in Animal House, when he goes into the rant after the other frat brother gets beat up by the fascist house, the famous “When the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, did America give up? No!!! Neidermeyer, dead man…Greggy, dead man…”

I have been told my oldest looks like Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. ( RIP). I kind of see the resemblance, but I think personality is so much a part of how you come across.
Which is probably why I was told I looked like Cyndi Lauper!
My youngest vaguely resembles a younger and prettier Angelina Jolie, especially in candid photos without makeup.

I met a woman who was staying where we were vacationing a few weeks ago who looked a LOT like Jamie Lee Curtis, but mostly from the side, not as much from the front.

It must be strange to have a doppelgänger.
When they used to have cigarette billboards, my Ds thought the Marlboro Man was their dad. ( blond & mustachioed)
And once I was at a disco with girlfriends before we were married, but while we were living together, and was convinced that I saw him there watching the dancers. ( he swears it wasn’t, and I believe him) We were just there to dance, not pains a date, but still I kept looking over my shoulder.

When I was in college, I could strike the pose and look quite like Mona Lisa.

When I met H, the new Superman movie with Christopher Reeve had just come out, and people were always remarking how much he looked like Clark Kent.

My son looks like Justin Long, and he (when shown my son’s photo by a mutual friend) agrees. My D looks like Catherine Zeta-Jones.
