I think the Vitamin D I absorbed while walking around in this past warm weekend did a great deal for my mood. So, I’m up for lighthearted posts!! The post below about Tees and where someone said they are related to Audrey Hepburn got me thinking about Dopplegangers. What celebrity, etc. do you look like or resemble? It’s always fun to try to imagine a face with a poster.
For me…I was stopped once about 20 years ago by a couple in a hotel that were starring at me. They finally came over and told me they thought I looked exactly like Mary Steenbergen. I had another person tell me I look like Susan Lucci. So, I think I am a cross between the two.
Someone decided I am a cross between Helena Bonham Carter, Enya, and Freddy Mercury (when he was alive). But I look most like that lady who played Anna on General Hospital 30 years ago, or Lori Loughlin from Full House if either of them were a little fatter. Oh wait, that would be Roseanne. Yeah.
You must be very pretty. I’ve always liked Steenbergen and am enjoying watching her on the last season of Justified.
I don’t really look like anyone, although I did go through a time where people would comment I reminded them of Cyndi Lauper, when she was going through her red hair phase.
My biggest thrill was when I was told that my daughter resembled me!
Of course, it might have been the resting witch face, which she doesn’t have, unless she wants to. But I am quite nearsighted even with glasses that are always sliding down my nose, so I am often frowning/squinting at things.
i don’t think I have a celebrity doppelgänger , but there are a lot of look-alikes walking the earth that people confuse for me.
I can see my daughters as having them…
Zooey Deschanel
Carrie Underwood and a young Gwnyeth Paltrow
Four friends on a golf trip in Scotland swear they found my doppelgänger in a pub and had their picture take with the poor guy. Even my wife doesn’t see the resemblance. I suspect some whiskey was at the bottom of this.
When I was a freshman in college in Korea, the movie “Graduate” was being shown in movie theaters (with Korean subtitles of course). One of my high school class mates, who did not belong to the group of my close high school friends, came to me and insisted that I should see the movie because Benjamin behaves and even looks exactly like me. That was rather amusing. I may have had some of his unsophisticated characteristics, but obviously I would not have looked like Dustin Hoffman. He still told me the same thing when I met him briefly during my visit to Korea a couple of decades later.
Not a celebrity exactly, but H was thumbing through a magazine last fall and came across a Ferragamo ad. One of the models (Suvi Kaponen) looked exactly like I did when he and I met in college. The likeness was so great that it was almost creepy. We looked for other pictures of her, and the resemblance is there, but not in the same way as in the Ferragamo ads. Big difference in height, though!
My son looked remarkably like Michael C. Hall. He went as Dexter for Halloween for three years in a row. And everybody knew exactly who he was. He was even thinking about signing with a “celebrity look alike” agency for a while. (He could also do Matt Damon and Mark Walberg…have you ever noticed you never see all three of those guys in the same place at once?)
When Mr. Bean was on TV or when one of his movies came out, I have had a half dozen different people, strangers and acquaintances, comment that I resembled him. And I’m not even Caucasian…
Once upon a time, DH and I were vacationing with the kids in Orlando. We had breakfast in some sort of diner. A woman came over to my husband, apologized for staring at him, and said he looked exactly like her son. Her own son!!! It was weird.
There is a British actress who had a part in a Dr Who episode who looked so much like me that my whole family (well, the Who-vians) all texted me during the show. It was uncanny. Fortunately for her, she is much much younger and prettier in real life!
People used to tell me I looked like Lady Diana. The hair and skin coloring are similar, but we definitely didn’t have the same nose or expensive clothes. One of my wedding pictures bears a slight resemblance. When my hair was shorter, my foreign students used to tell me I looked like McGyver. That was awkward.
