toblin, that was incredible! Even though the camera showed the man controlling the kites, I don’t see how he was able to keep them from getting tangled up. And they were perfectly synchronized with the music, too! Just beautiful - thanks for posting it :).

Retired “Blue Angels” ? :)

Just unbelievable! Thank you so much for posting this–it really made my day!

thanks for posting this - how amazing. I did need cheering up and it worked!

That is incredible…thank you!

That was amazing. I can’t imagine the coordination that he needs. Thank you I needed that

Wow! That is great! Thanks for posting!

Lovely!! I had no idea that was possible.

“Retired “Blue Angels” ?”

I would say, Snowbirds =) The guy is from Canada.

Thanks, toblin!

Lovely. Thanks.

This is wonderful. ![]()
I looked up his website, he lives in Vancouver, BC.
That would be great place for kite flying.
It also says that he is now completely deaf after a rare virus, so all the choreography is to music he already knew.

If they give out Gold Medals in choreographed kite flying then he deserves one.

That’s great. Flying two-line stunt kites is so much fun, but I can’t imagine trying to fly more than one at a time.

I have flown a train of kites like this ([Large train of Dyna Kites - YouTube](<a href=“Large train of Dyna Kites - YouTube”>Large train of Dyna Kites - YouTube)), but the most is six kites. It’s a lot of work to get them all set up for launching, then it’s pretty much the same as flying one.

Now that I think about it, flying a kite, any kite, is really fun! Haven’t done it in years-should do it again soon! As I type this at my lake house, the wind is fierce, shrieking in fact. Is too much wind a problem for kite flying?

Yes. It can be. You have to match the kite to the wind. Stunt kites, like the guy is flying in the video, like a pretty strong, steady wind. The are unresponsive in a light or variable wind.

I would say that steady 10 mph to 20 mph wind is probably the sweet spot for kite flying.

^^^^Ours is 20-30 mph, and seems rather gusty.
