Who reads apps from NYC?

Does anyone know who reads applications from NYC? in my application I used some language that mostly young people would find entertaining, so if the person is over 50, then he/she might not necessarily enjoy it that much…Good idea or bad idea?

Here you go, email Ms. Wei and ask her how old she is:

Bad idea.

Oh, entomom, you’re so funny!

lol…it wasnt like the message was inappropriate, it was just that i said, in relationship to a sport that I am very passionate about, “(cause we ain’t losing baby!)”. do you think the language is too “vulgar” for the taste of the admissions office? thanks again

You’re overestimating the sensitivities of Yale staff, jb. Really.

^^ This is one the major reasons why students should always ask an adult – one of your teachers, coaches, or mentors, and as a last resort, your parents – to read your essays before submitting them!!! Sometimes 17-year-old humor does not go over well with 50 year old essay readers.

From your post, it doesn’t sound too vulgar though. But, context is everything.
