I thought whoever updates the Yola site might want to update a couple of things about Ole Miss.
Ole Miss gives an automatic full tuition scholarship for an ACT of 33 and a 3.0 g.p.a., which is on the site. This scholarship includes a one-time $1,000 technology award, which is not listed on Yola.
Ole Miss awards a 32 on the ACT almost full tuition, just $144 per year short, and I suspect a lot of people who view the list would like to know this.
The following stack on top of tuition awards and are automatic:
Students with a 32 or 33 who have a 3.5 g.p.a. receive an additional $2,700 per year automatically.
Valedictorians and Salutatorian of their high school receive an additional $1,500 per year
Student body presidents receive $1,500 per year
Eagle Scouts receive $1,500 per year
(I think those accepted into the honors college get an additional $8,000 per year. Don’t know if that counts as automatic or not, since you have to be accepted, but they don’t turn down many if any people with a 33 and 3.5 grade point).
@BobWallace was the person who set all of that up. Hoping he is still reading this site!!
Bob, if you’re out there…could you put a “last updated_____” blurb on it? When I first learned of that site, I was leery of relying on the information because I had no way to tell how up to date it was. I have seen so many references to it since then, that I assume it’s fairly current, but a date would be helpful.
Thank you for your contributions.
@alooknac
Even IF @BobWallace or someone else updates the info…you should still absolutely check the college websites directly for current awards status. That’s the only direct source for accuracy.
Are there any firm requirements for the honors college or is it case by case?
@Chilibean There are not. They used to have a minimum ACT of 27 or 28, but they have apparently ditched that for a “holistic” review, probably for diversity reasons. Here’s what their website says:
“There is no “minimum” ACT or GPA to gain entrance to the Honors College. The typical academic profile of our entering freshmen last year was a 30.3 ACT and a 3.92 unweighted GPA. However we encourage high-performing student to apply no matter what their test scores, especially valedictorians and salutatorians, as all applicants are viewed holistically.”
There is place on cc to add updates for NMSF scholarships

It would be a good idea to have a similar sticky thread for updates to the other yola lists.
@EarlVanDorn
Thanks much for the response.
