who wears a watch?

I admit I haven’t worn a watch for a long time-
I had a Skagen that I loved until it died. But with the time on my ipod/palm/phone etc, I haven’t been able to see the need to wear one.
But I am starting to miss it.
It can be a pain to dig in my pockets just to find my cell phone to see what time it is.
The clock in my car is often not right, because every time I disconnect the battery to work on something, I forget to change the clock back & you need a small pointy object to do so ;)

We won’t even talk about the clocks in the house and how accurate they are :D

Do you wear a watch?

I always wear a watch. I do wear it on the “wrong” hand, though, and always have.

I have a lovely watch that my daughters gave me for my 40th birthday.

About the same time that my eyesight started to fail. I sometimes wear it, but I can’t see it without my “readers.”

My entire family wears a watch; I go crazy if I leave the house without it! Yes, I know I can see thetime on my phone, or car clock, but I prefer to look at my watch. Both kids were give very nice watches during high school and my son loves his. When he went to college he was concerned about where to put his watch while he slept or was in the shower! I have seen him dry polishing the band and worries about a scratch on the face. My daughter picked a very expensive watch for graduation and she lovingly takes care of her watch also.

The funny thing is my husband has a nice dress watch, not as nice as mine or the kids, but a nice watch just the same. What does he wear every day to work-his Timex from Target! He loves that watch as much as the kids love their dress watches. I tried to buy him a new band for the Timex as his was really worn; he made me take it back saying there was nothing wrong with his!

I have a cheap watch that I wear every day. We all do.

I love to buy the cheap $10-$20 watches and wear as jewelry, but as la mere above points out, I can’t see the time on some of them without my reading glasses, which defeats the purpose of seeing the time. I never go anywhere without my cell phone, and I’ve come to rely on it and my car’s clocks to tell time by.

My H can’t wear a watch. really, every time he does it dies.
However, he hasn’t killed the cell phone yet
nobody in our family wears a watch- my older D also kills them, and my younger D changes her mind about what she likes- she doesn’t like the feel of them anyway.
But I think I may get one- itd be good to have :)

I love watches. I’ve acquired quite a few over the years. I seem to get them as gifts. Although the watches aren’t expensive, keeping them running can be. I just took two in yesterday for new batteries, and was shocked at the bill.
I still have a couple wind-ups that I wear, too. My favorite of those is a 30 year-old Movado that I bought myself when I worked in New York. I also still occasionally wear the one my parents gave me when I graduated college. That one has a beautiful gold band - no doubt the most expensive of the lot. Something about watches has always intrigued me. I’m generally not that interested in jewelry.

I only wear a watch when I travel and then it’s a cheap plastic digital that has dual time zones and a built-in alarm. My cell phone has a clock if I think I need to know what the time is and am away from the computer, phone, DVD, TV, Microwave, car, and all other locations of ubiquitus time display devices.

I wear one but find myself looking at it less and less. People seem to get a laugh out of it if I take it off during the summer when my skin is incredibly super dark tan (family trait, dont worry i don’t fake-n-bake  ) and there’s the glowing white watch line! Even in the winter I’ve got a somewhat noticeable tan line there.

I love Swatches!

My Fossil Terps watch is my pride and joy. My students always get a kick out of it when they notice it.

No watch here. I can usually estimate the time to within 10 minutes without needing to look at a clock of any sort. If I need to know the time more precisely than that, I pull out the cell phone.

I have a number of watches- some very expensive and some not. I used to collect Swatches and wore several at a time. I always wear a watch. My running watches do everything but run FOR me!

I usually wear one. I am mortally afraid of being late for anything, so it’s just a habit to have one on. My cell is uncharged half the time. But the watch is always ticking.

It took me years to figure out my kids don’t wear watches and are never going to. So I’ll stop buying them as Christmas presents.

I always wear a watch and feel undressed without it. My kids and husband just rely on their cell phones.

Since I’m compulsively early, I don’t wear a watch. Since my husband is compulsively late, he wears a watch. Has done the marriage a world of good.

I love watches, but I haven’t had good luck with them lately. I had a gorgeous one that was impossible to read and too big that I gave to my husband. I had one from the Metropolitan Museum gift store with cool changing colors. But it had a cheap strap that needs to get replaced. I had a cool one I got for Christmas with antique charm bracelet type strap. It turned out to be too hard to put on by myself. Anyway I stuck it in a pair of shoes which I put on the stairs and I haven’t seen either the shoes or the watches for a few weeks. I’d be happy to use the clock on my cell phone (when I remember to bring it with me), but I can’t figure out how to access it. Sometimes it’s there, but mostly it isn’t. I’d love to have more and different watches.

fireflyscout: I too and a compulsively early person! It’s so rare to meet a fellow too-early-for-everything person! I have spent more time sitting in parking lots waiting for the right time to go in someplace… My kids used to just hate it. (But I notice they aren’t late for things!)

I always wear a watch. When I forget it, I can’t believe how often I check to see what time it is. I’m also an early person married to a late person. After 27 years together, we’ve pretty much blended into a normal on-time person.
