How many of my fellow Yale applicants hold steady part-time jobs throughout the year? It seems like everyone is very concentrated on volunteering, academics, extracurriculars, etc, but I have not seen anyone admitting that they work, for example, at a McDonalds or something similar.

I’ve been looking for a job for months now. I applied pretty much everywhere you can imagine, restaurants, yogurt shops, ice cream shops, starbucks, offices, etc. i even applied to an amc in my area that i KNOW hires ex-cons …

i was rejected everywhere.

^ worked tutoring kids (outside of school in my community)

It wasn’t so much work as it was (simple) academics I got paid (modestly, but still, those kids were great) for.

I have worked at a grocery store now since August. Its about 12-15 hours per week.

i was accepted EA and have been working for two year… about 6-8 hours during the school year and up to thirty in the summer
