Who would you admit?

Grad schools and advisors want people who will be future leaders of their field. You cannot get to this level simply through hard work. A certain level of brilliance and outside-the-box thinking is necessary to expand one’s field of study. Hard work is necessary for all grad students, but a good work ethic can be taught while brilliance cannot. Grad programs would prefer someone who has the potential to make original contributions to their field.
