I’m trying to send a message of math interests with a sidenote of community activism both politically and socially.
I’ll add more if I remember anything. What are my reaches, safeties, etc such as Penn, Columbia, Cornell, JHU, U Wash in St. Louis, Brown, Princeton, Tufts?

By the way, I am a pretty unique Indian. My mom is Hindu and my dad is Muslim, so I am a 1 in 100,000 child - a rarity.

hump de bump

You joking? I have 4 friends who are half Paki and Half Indian. And yes, half and half. That is no rarity. It is actually one of the most possible combination. 1 billion indians (150 are muslim) and some 100 million Pakistanis.

I suppose I may be wrong. But I would like to ask you one question - what is their religion? An Indian is not necessarily a Hindu. After all, the country with the third large Muslim population is India. Also, I am not Pakistani at all. Both my parents are Indian.

Plus, your argument is completely fallacious. Having four friends who are halfie does not necessarily imply that this is a common occurrence. This is a classic dicto secundum quid ad dictum simpliciter fallacy or converse fallacy of accident. You cannot argue a specific case applies to an entire generalization.

Even though there are a lot of indians and pakistanis, that does not necessarily mean that they intermarry all the time. Generally, if you ask Indians and Pakistanis, they do not like the other nation. This is why the cricket matches are so heated and filled with hatred. This is also another fallacy - non sequitor. Because there are a lot of people, this does not mean they intermarry often.

Generally, in Muslim-Hindu marriages, the Hindu girl, which is in my case, must convert to Islam in order for the marriage to be accepted. This did not happen, so I am the outcast of both religions - an Untouchable in Hinduism and a demi-heathen in Islam.

I agree with Crackjacks. There are tons of half Hindu (Indian)/ Pakistan (Muslim) students, and I don’t think that really would appeal as anything meaningful to colleges who are looking for kids from slums and racially poor backgrounds.

However, while you have a laundry list of EC’s, your scores are amazing enough to give you good chances! Good luck.

I didn’t mean to incense everyone with my aside. Sorry.

Rferns don’t mind be probing, but good chances to where?

It may not be as rare as only 100,000 children, but it is definitely not a common thing. Yes, you definitely show yourself as competitive and you focus on the political/social community activism and math. You should apply to all your schools but include one or two back ups. Tufts could serve as a safety, but is more a match because there are some really exceptional students I know who got rejected.
