2000 posts!

I was post #2000!!! Milestone in life right there.

Speaking of milestones, does anyone have Facebook Timeline?

laodicean wins the 2,000th-post prize!

wooooooooooooooooooooooooot.

Congrats on 2k!

Unfortunate. I have a dentists appointment that friday from 3-5. THE HORROR!!!

Getting my gum cut off so my wisdom teeth can grow in

awww…my dentist keeps commenting on my wisdom teeth…and i could only think inside my head “what wisdom teeth?”

^^ Same here! He keeps saying I have to get them removed in a few months… I can’t wait

I am going to watch the Columbia thread. Its going to be interesting; obviously not for the people who don’t get in. But it will be a like sneak preview for Penn.

Ok, guys, this time a serious question. I was arguing with people all day over this question:

There are two people who each have a 200 grand salary. They are both considered for a CEO position. Both put in the same amount of hard work, effort, time, have the same qualifications, etc. But one guy is more friendly/has better soft skills; he is the one who gets the CEO position. The CEO position has the same salary, but he has a million dollars in bonuses.

Is it fair for that guy to get 1 million dollars just for his social skills? Are those skills worth 1 million dollars?

What if the Guy #1 worked harder, put more time/effort, had higher qualifications. Do you think it is fair for Guy # 2 to get the million dollar job because he is more friendly with his boss?

Hopefully Penn will be softer on us than Columbia will on its applicants

I think a huge part of being in a company is having good social skills. At the tippy top of companies, everyone has a Harvard MBA and is a very hard worker. The one that comes off better socially will likely to be rewarded over others. It’s human nature that we reward those who are nicer or more outgoing in general. Now if one of them was a harder worker or had better qualifications, it would be a case by case basis.

lol I HAVE A LEGIT QUESTION!!!

Do you ever just dream that you are a student at Penn or creep. One of my good friends from national circuit debate (ima nerd) is at Penn right now and i find myself creeping her facebook and some of her “Penn Friends” facebooks’ and imagine myself there, does anyone else do that

Haha, I did that with my friend who was accepted last year. Only once though, don’t plan on doing it again :p.

Yes. I daydream a lot about being a Penn student, much to my dismay. I might as well jinx myself since nothing ever turns out the way I want them to.

Yeah that does sort of makes sense. But, some basically suck up to the boss. Guy # 1 was polite and reasonable, but Guy#2 was more extroverted and sucked up to the boss; is that brown nosing really worth a million dollars?

I don’t think so.

Let me give you another instance, two guys who graduate from undergrad schools plan to go to med school. Both go to the same school for med. One becomes a MD/Phd (medical scientist) and another becomes a doctor. A doctors starting salary is usually about 140,000, while a medical scientist’s starting salary is 75,000. Does it really make sense if both have similar workload and stresses, one makes double the other guys salary?

Let’s talk about something random. How tall is everyone? I’m 5’ 10" and an asian guy.

OMG 2000 posts! This thread is definitely going to go down in CC (and Penn!) history
No matter what the outcome is on Friday it definitely felt pretty great to be a part of this, right guys?

ALSO: everyone who’s not on this list, PLEASE re-post the school you’ve applied to! Then we can update the list once Friday rolls around and we’ll just have a better idea of who’s applied where and all the stats and everything later on.

Sorry about the mistakes in the last one, and based on who’s updated us with the schools they’ve applied to, here’s the updated one!
