Who's applying ED to Penn?

Hey, this proves that we’re HUMAN.
You probably wrote an essay about moving so much though, right? (or in that extra section asking to explain anything on your common app).

Anyway, having perfect scores and transcript really doesn’t mean anything in life. Having the necessary social skills equipped with understanding in academia is what truly defines a person with potential for success.

GRRRR. Now we’re being like those other early threads. This is making me so nervous now.

haha @EmPaige, I agree. No real use in discussing scores, considering we can’t do anything to change our application.

No. I wrote about my real name and how much it bothered me when I was little =D
The Common App like requires you to explain education interruption situations
And I worked my butt off junior and beginning of senior year to secure stable leadership positions in clubs…you don’t know how relieved I felt when I knew I didn’t have to move end of junior year and that I could continue my EC’s
@EmPaige21 - okay then let’s talk about something more cheerful like clothes or food! I ate stinky tofu and roast duck at a Chinese restaurant yesterday…yummm…Philadelphia has a great Chinatown…it’s one of the reasons why I want to go to Penn!

@sweetcookie- congrats, though, on your lovely stats. You’re just too wonderful and it’s nerve-wracking.

I just ate homemade pumpkin pie, and I’m drinking a V8, so I’m feeling pretty good. Philly has a lovely health foods and locavore movement, which is another reason I love Penny Penny bo Benny.

Sometimes I wish I lived on the east coast…the people seem so friendly over there!!! plus, I love cold weather lol

Me too. As much as Southern California is AMAZING, I can’t wait to try something new on the East Coast and have a fresh start.

I love cold weather too, but today on the good ole East Coast (well in Maryland, at least) it’s a whopping 70 degrees. I’m not a fan. And people are mostly friendly (until you go to New York City).

^SAME!!! I will miss the beach though. If I get in to UCLA, then I’ll probably stay here. That is, if I don’t get in to Penn…

@mandypandy, which part of california are you from?

@EmPaige21: hahahaha gotta love New York City!! I’ve only been there once, and all I really remember is that I couldn’t sleep at all in my hotel room because the lights outside were too bright…

Also, what schools (if Penn doesn’t work in our favors) are you applying/ have you applied to?

hey guys
I feel pretty left out at school these days b/c I’m like the only person applying to Upenn(I’m in canada u see). Everyone’s like ‘wth why are you applying to the states???’ I just feel like face-palming alone in my room. </(
I cannot thank everyone here for being such enthusiastic CC users. You guys really help me bear this painful time of the year…

@accordingtome: LA area, sort of, in the middle of nowhere! :)

@EmPaige21 - You’re a pretty intimidating applicant yourself. I was pretty obsessed about the SAT but now that it’s over whatevs. CC is a good place for a reality check.
I can sense that you’re slightly a health nut, non?
I live in the South right now, and I’d die to go to the East or West Coast. I was born a city girl!

@accordingtome: what about you?

@mandypandy: oh we aren’t that far from each other then. I’m from Orange County, like 15 minutes away from Disneyland.

@tjehddus - I’m Canadian too! Used to live in the Toronto region…but I went all over the place for high school so now I’m in the South. I heard Penn likes us Canadians though, so that’s good.
People in the US still mistake Penn for Penn State. I told this one guy that I would love to go to Penn and he replied: “Oh really, you must be a big football fan then?” Facepalm moment there.

@sweetcookie- Me? A health nut? What on earth could have given you that impression? :stuck_out_tongue: I just love food. But I’m also very wary of genetic modification and pesticides, so I try to stick to closer-to-the-ground foods. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love some sweetcookies every now and then!

Also @tjehddus- Your post is the cutest, most darling, nicest thing I’ve ever read. I’m glad you feel better, and I wish you the BEST of luck. What part of Canada do you live in?

@EmPaige21: I am applying to the UC’s and I already got accepted to Drexel. I know it’s not that great of a school, but I got a huge scholarship for the accelerated program I applied to. And I love Philly :D
