Who's applying for Spring transfer 10'-Cornell?

Paul Fisher is the head of the transfer admissions for college of ecology. I think that his status is similar to Ian in the ILR.

ohhh alrite. good luck with ur application. i’m applying to CALS so yea…i wouldn’t have known who Paul is haha…

mollena … how can you confuse me more? i’m simply asking what type of envelope i should give to my teachers so they can use them to mail out my recommendations! … i doubt this is a deciding factor for admission into schools but i’d like to know just in case

i hope all goes well (need to start my essay) and good luck to you mollena :)

I wish YOU the best of luck too!
I just seemed to be very “foggy” these days…must be the heat!

paul is the human ecology equivalent of ian (the ILR guys). and yeah mollena, i’m meeting that paul lol. i’ve met him before and then had a phone appointment with him, but i’m going to have another in-person meeting with him to make sure i have a solid app this time i around. i seriously don’t know what i’ll do if i don’t get in :frowning:

i give my profs (and all people filling out forms/sending things out for me) manilla envelopes that are stamped and addressed, but i don’t think it would matter.

how are you guys meeting him if he’s an admissions guy at cornell? do you live close? are there people like him for every school? how do i get to talk to one …

there should be transfer advisors for each school, so call up the office and ask who yours would be and schedule an appointment with them. they can be in person or via the telephone. and no, i live on long island, but i go up there a lot because my boyfriend is a current ILR student.

ohhh and are those transfer advisors also the people who deal with admissions? and when you have phone appointments they basically assist you with how to improve your essay and the extracurriculars?

they usually are on the admissions committee. they won’t really tell you much about your essay or ECs, but they will tell you how to plan your schedule, what you can do to make yourself stronger (but not specifics… darn! lol), they’ll tell you if you’re on the right track, what they expect to see, etc.

mollyyy!! we never went to the beach! are you pumped for the spring? i’m going crazy that it’s 4 months awayy!

Brandnew…Get over here and we’ll go to the beach!! Even if we hit a nice day in Sept., it’ll be great.
I know…4 MONTHS till we go to Cornell!!! I feel like I’m planning a wedding.
You must be crazy b/c basically, you are finished everything, just waiting. Don’t worry, you’ll be there before you know it!!!
Ironically…you’ll be there too, I feel it!! xoxo :)

Haha, you feel the same for me, Mollena?

=)

EVERYONE feels that way for you, viola! :-D

yeah for realll vio! and mol, i’m taking like one class for kicks and substituting all semester to make maddd cashh :] i dont start my class till sept 8th! so yeah, hit me up on facebook and we’ll plan a date!!

Brandnew…it’s a date, we’ll talk thru FB. Viola, I feel the same for YOU TOO!! You are our “thread leader,” so without you, we would not be talking!!! Let’s all go to the beach in Sept!! You too Ironically!!! Everyone can stay at my house! xo:)

=) I’m really thankful for the support. I know I’m on less now, but I’m really working hard on the application. PM me if you have specific questions, as long as you keep in mind that I don’t know everything - I can only share my thoughts.

Ok, so I’m going up there next Thursday for an interview with Ian. Does anybody have any advice? What should I wear (I’m a guy haha…)? This is getting pretty serious.

On another note… I need a good way to tell my girlfriend I’m definitely applying. She knows I’ve been thinking about it but I’m not sure its going to go over well… haha any tips would be great

bj (nothing personal, i’m just gonna call you that,)

We don’t know much about your gf, but if the two of you care about one another, just tell her.

Ian is very chill. Dress nicely - shirt and nice jeans/dress pants, but don’t over-do it. The interview is relaxed. The idea is to establish a ‘time line’ - see if you’ve taken any time off from school and why - and see if you fit into ILR academically… Be prepared to talk about why you want to be a part of ILR, what your favorite classes are, etc.

lol be yourself bj. i went to my interview in skinny jeans, a dashboard confessional tshirt and flip flops ( in november might i add)… but that’s who i am and thats who i wanted to show i would bring if i was accepted… (my impeccable style is really the only reason i was accepted) but hah who knows…

there is a tentative date for transfer day in november, which is kind of sucky because i would have liked it to be before apps needed to be in. i’ll still go lol so either way i guess it’s good that they’re having one, but yeah.
