I have a question to you guys. Say one really wants to go to Cornell (okay you know…lol) but got rejected for this spring and he is going to be a junior, would it be a good idea for him to transfer to a community college with a transfer agreement from a 4 year university? would this work? im just wondering…

Is there a community college in your area with an agreement to Cornell, valv? If so, definitely do it, especially if the 4-year you’re at now doesn’t suit you that much. Unfortunately, the three closest CCs near me, including the one I’m at, didn’t have Cornell agreements. But someone in my admissions office said our students have had a lot of good luck with getting into Cornell, so maybe they like us?

the hotel school is sending out notices this week n next week… did anyone get anything yet??? if u did can u post ur stats??? THANXX A BUNCH!!! im extremely nervous…

hey, nobody would know I speak spanish looking at my name :P

still nothing!

Wow. I came into this thread expecting that you would have had good news by now. Maybe you should give them a call tomorrow. The worse they could tell you is that they can’t give you an answer through the phone.

no netID package for me either, rawr. And no one has heard back? I thought this would have been a big monday…hmph.

:( i got my rejection letter in the mail today(i applied to hotel)…I’m actually not that upset so it’s alright lol. good luck to all you other guys who still didn’t hear yet!!

^^^I’m sorry to hear that but it’s good that you’re taking it so well.

nope there’s no college around here with agreement but i dont mind moving out to NY or whatever state those schools are in

I really don’t think that’s necessary. Maybe you should ask water to coach you on your application for the fall.

lol…

sorry serendipity. the hotel school is really weird - they’re looking for stellar grades and all this crazy experience to prove that you really are into the industry.

also, valv, the transfer agreement thing isn’t exactly as you think. you need to be nominated in order to get the guaranteed admission, so it’s not just about making the grades and going to one of those schools. you could go to one of those CCs, get the grades, and not be part of the group of students selected to be part of it.

You guys will get your NetIDs really soon I think… got mine in the mail over the weekend while I was away. It really feels official after that… you’ve got your Cornell e-mail and everything and can officially join the network on fb and check out the student center website and search courses and stuff. I can’t wait!!! But you still can’t register for courses which is really annoying

gosnia, how are you 2013?! ugh i’m jealous. i want to stay an extra year

hopefully i’ll get into humec’s 1 year masters program and my wish will come true hehe

ughhhhh i don’t want to do any of my work. one of my psych teachers just decided to assign a paper, and it’s due wednesday. she literally gave it to us this morning and her response to our outrage that we only have 2 days to do it was “well i’m letting you out early, so you can start on it now.” -_- what. and so i have this in addition to my 8 page paper due. i have another assignment due and a quiz first thing in the morning on wednesday, too.
hell week(s) begin now. basically all i keep telling myself is cornellcornellcornellcornellcornellcornellcornell lol

Hahaha, I’m the exact same way ironic. Basically, this end of the semester requires me to do like, 5 papers, 2 tests, one huge chemistry final, plus 3 more labs. Yeah, good luck with that, Ryan…(nah…I’ll study in the name of Big Red…I guess…siiiigh…lol)

gosnia! Are you in the FB group?

GWAHHHHH I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW AT THE BEST HOSPITAL EVARRR :3…
Half of the doctors are Cornell grads!!! And one of them in particular is a feline specialist, 6 years out of Cornell and she’s pwning at life.
/gush of happiness

Also, might I add that I am really terrible at sculpting clay.

Sorry to hear that serendipity =(

ironic, do you know how easy/difficult it is to get into that nominated group? I’m basically going to have no friends next semester, so I’m going to attempt to be friends with my professors anyway. Hopefully it’ll work out.

OMG AZU. That’s so awesome! Guaranteed you’ll get some sick recommendations! That actually made my night, weirdly enough.

I also am quite the terrible clayist. I made up a word. Suck it, Websters.

One hotellie down…sorry seren, hopefully the others will hear back tomorrow.

sorri to hear that serendipity… seriously ur grades r awesome… n ur scores r amazing…if u r just into business there are so many top business schools that r willing to accept u…

at this point I just think the hotel school is so damn weird… seriously…if people with 3.8"s dont get in…I will def not get in… i think im just gonna send in my deposit for UMASS Amherst… no hope in cornell… so sad…

rolemodel, if i were you, i’d wait. As the hotel school is weird , it’s like a50% chance for everyone, don’t u think? I mean, some ppl with worse grades get in (idk how but they make it) ; therefore, you should not give up that easily
At least, that’s what i think
