Mr. East is in the building. Acceptance rate on a 100…thousand…trillion.

God, I’ve been waiting for months to say that. Now that that’s out of my system, I’ll be going to Emory. From what I’ve seen from another thread, I think Jemma’s decided to stay in PR.

This actually worked out in my favor since I won’t even have to move now and I can opt to stay off campus if I choose. Plus, I checked and there’s no SB Dunk retailers in Ithaca. I would’ve hated to have to miss out on the dunks and have to buy average sneakers from the mall.

YAY east!!! not that your acceptance is a surprise, but i’m SO happy for you! your emory essay was amazing, i’m so glad you got in

ps i love that georgia’s speed limit is 70. we drove through today in no time because i speed on top of ridic speed limits. new york’s is 55 -_-

YAy east!!! CONGRATS! Yes, I will be staying in PR but I’m so happy for you!!! = ) I’ll still be visiting my aunt in early Jan. She lives in GA. Maybe we can meet up ;)

I’m a 2nd year student applying for Fall 2010 transfer for AEM. Am I required to input my scores on commonapp and send them the official score reports? (they were low) I just wanted to double-check because I read that some people choose not to send them.

“In your Transfer Common Application essay, try to write a piece that will help us understand your thoughts and feelings about something that is important to you. We are interested in the topic you choose, how you develop your idea, and how well you express yourself.”

Are they talking about the Personal Essay in the Common App (explaining the reasons for transferring/objectives) or the Supplement Essay (explaining the reasons for ‘why Cornell’)?

Valv I’m glad you had fun! Disney is my favorite place in the world, I’m going to get married here

Ps tfn, for some reason I can’t access gmail because of the crappy internet at my hotel. I’m going to ask guest services if they can do anything about it and then I’ll send you my stuff.

It depends on what school you’re applying to

Anybody here have any knowledge of how the visiting student thing works? Anyways, I was researching the possibility and it turns out, I can be a visiting student at Cornell That would incredible even if its just for a semester to study at Cornell lol Anyways, I’ll send an email to CAS and see what they say. Probably for 2011 either way. although sucky part, FA doesn’t do much for visiting students. Dunno. Just throwing it out there! Anybody who still wants to study at Cornell but transfer is not an option. A semester or an entire year can be Just a thought :D

Personally, I would never do the visiting student thing. As you said, the FA isn’t all that great for visiting students. I just don’t see the benefits of spending one semester at another school, only to incur more debt and no degree. That’s just my opinion.

and word jemma. i was thinking of doing a visiting student thing to harvard/yale at one point, but i don’t think i can anymore because the credits wouldn’t come back with me since i’m already over the credit limit for transfers. definitely come chill with us for a semester, it’ll be a lot of fun :)

Hey I’m planning on trying to transfer to Cornell for the fall semester. I’ve got pretty good statistics, but Cornell is obviously a very good school. I’d appreciate comments on what I should hope for.
My high school gpa was 4.0. (nothing was weighted)
33 on my act.
I’m a freshman this year and just completed my first semester taking…
Calculus 1
Chem 1
Physics 1
Data Structures
I received A’s in all of those.
I play sports pretty religiously in high school. I was actually on the basketball team here, but quit because it wasn’t a priority.
Oh, and I’m applying for the school of Engineering, majoring in Computer Science. I’m really banking on this, because if Cornell doesn’t work out for me I think I’ll have to resort to Kansas State, or something of the likes.

I don’t really have any spectacular extra curricular besides varsity tennis and basketball. Could this have an impact of not distinguishing me?

Your stats are good, but your ECs would be better if you were doing some engineering/CS things to show your interest. Is CS in engineering? I thought it was in CAS but maybe it’s in both. Anyway, get good recs, see if you can add some relevant ECs, and write killer essays and you have a shot. CAS and COE are super selective though
