Who's applying for Spring transfer 10'-Cornell?

oh and btw, congrats to those of you who already got in, Im so happy for you guys. the rest of us, lets be strong and hang in there. Dont have much of an option anyways

luki where do you go to school now? and your major does matter.

Emina…you’re an upstate NY traveler!!haha Well, maybe I’ll take the bus from the Weill med school, stay a couple of days, and take it back to NYC from the North campus. It runs 2x’s day, everyday. I took it up there for my invitation last October.
I don’t know if you’ve ever ridden on the Cornell-NYC bus, but it’s really nice. I had a pillow, blanket, snacks, tv and internet. It’s $75. each way, but it beats 5 hrs. of driving!! Plus, you meet alot of Cornell medical students & faculty (my hopeful future)
Ok…I’ll call you this week. xoxo

o.O you could take the shortline bus for $45 each way or like 85$ roundtrip, it starts from Port Authority in NYC and makes various stops along the way (Bing included) and then drops people off around Cornell’s campus (Collegetown, North Campus, etc). Less expensive, a 5 hour ride, no snacks or anything though xD just possibly a movie.

Az…that’s also another option! I use Cornell bus b/c it goes straight through w/out stops & it has food! I may be 115 lbs, but I love to eat!!!

that bus actually sounds like great way to meet people, but i like the flexibility of stopping when i want (…and speeding hahaha), and i’m bringing people home for thanksgiving from cornell so i need the room. but yeah, since i’m spending the last few days only at cornell, you could definitely take the bus up and catch a ride home with me if you’d like :)

ps i’m obsessed with cornell hockey, so let me know if you’ll be there with me and i’ll try to find you tickets to the games i’m going to! they’re so much fun!!!

hey, to what east said before about the committee not meeting until december, i would hope they just SAY that, but meet way earlier… because it says that the housing deadline is december 15th (to apply). if you dont get your application in before then, youre not guaranteed a place to live, however, transfers are promised housing?

i dunno… i feel like it all contradicts itself, and they probably say they meet so late so no ones pestering them for their decisions. who knows tho?

Well I e-mailed Ian about it since I’ve already been accepted to another school which requires me to notify them soon about whether I’ll be going there or not. He basically told me that all ILR applicants are encouraged to make a back-up plan if they’ve been accepted elsewhere since the committee doesn’t meet until early December.

My guess is that even though the admissions deadline has been moved up this year, the same hasn’t occurred for the meeting date of the committee. Nevertheless, I hope what you’re saying is true, Lacey. I had one of those “I’m not going to get accepted to Cornell” days yesterday and it was pretty bad. I had nothing to do at work, so I searched through CC and analyzed the stats of everyone who got accepted for the spring of last year. Sad, I know.

Faxed my midterms over (A-, B+, B+, C+)

X_X damn chemistry. though my professor did write some awesome comments on the sheet for me, since after this next week’s lab/quiz go in, my grade will once again skyrocket to a B, and hopefully continue on this upward trend.)

I’m hoping that’s all they needed…Cathy knows I’m not the strongest science student (I absolutely love most science classes and enjoy the material, but if it’s not biology that means I might not do as well, especially in the first two months.)

Not to make up more excuses…haha. But honestly, I still like my chances. Hopefully if that’s all they needed I’ll hear back quick (and hopefully all us CALS folks do!)

Had one of those days yesterday, east. It’s especially bad when you don’t have that much to do…

Still nothing in the mail from CAS… I wonder if they have begun reviewing yet.

congrats on your other acceptance east! stinks about the committees meeting so late. the only reason i know humec started looking at apps is because they referenced a few, but again, they said not to expect anything until december - january, so… i’m just going to hang out and keep freaking out lol

east I know you cant stand pm’s. But I pm’d you. lol! Congrats by the way on your acceptance! Where did you get in?

NorthEASTern

maclen, you should get accepted based off your pure wittiness…really…

lacey <3

although i’m a huge fan of puns, whether they’re good or bad lol

Parents/brother are off to Vassar to visit another college for him. Must be nice to have a 98 GPA and tons of college options, lol.

But Cornell is the only place for meeeee <3

Kay. Anyway. So does anyone know if the offices there are closed for Vets. Day? Kinda hoping I’ll hear something back today, haha (doubtful.)

At least I know they have my grades now.

I’m off to shower, then head up to school for extra chem practice, then to try out the new Call of Duty at a friends, haha.

today is 11th, so the cornell’s selfchecking website will open back in a couple days? if my memory serves correctly, the website said “come back in the mid Dec.”

The website says mid-November from what I remember (which is what I think you probably meant :stuck_out_tongue: ).

"…you can resume tracking your materials when we turn the online application status system back on in mid-November. "

However, the FAQ on their website says that we should all be getting our decisions via snail-mail, so I don’t know if the selfservice website coming back online is relevant to us at all.

"When should I expect to hear the decision on my application, and how will I be informed?

Decisions for transfer applicants are made on a rolling basis. We begin communicating decisions approximately 4 weeks after the deadline and continuing communicating them for an additional 6 weeks. Please note that many decisions are delayed because the application was not complete by the deadline. Applicants will receive an admissions decision letter by regular mail."

im sorry
i meant Nov
dumb me…

I’m guessing by the 16th the self service will be up.

Last year spring applicants got their decision on the self service website (plus snail mail), while fall transfer couldn’t. Crossing my fingers that we can check our decision online :D
