<p>I wanna be a lawyer because there are many many many people out there who don’t acknowledge the power of the law and being deceived by cunning people who take advantage of their ignorance. I am a media major and we learn media laws. A lot of the rules or regulations on the media laws are not common sense, and every day people get deceived. For me, it is just too sad to hear. There are also people that do not acknowledge the rules and claim their rights, which I am not really happy about. Rules are rules. They are there to be preserved, not to be broken. Correction is needed only when it’s in high demand and inevitable.</p>

<p>Valv, I’m taking Com Law now, and I agree with you. So many of those things are NOT common sense. It’s great to hear someone wants to educate people in that department.</p>

<p>Anyway, since we’re on the subject of names and facebook, is my last name funny? It seems that someone always has some “witty” pun to make when they hear it. I was talking to this girl in macroecon the other day and when she asked for my last name so she could add me on fb, she just laughed when she heard it.</p>
<p>East, your last name is fine. I don’t think it sounds awkward at all. And I don’t think it’s particularly unique. </p>
<p>My first name is way way way more one of a kind. Everytime I tell my name to a telephone operator, he/she says either “Wow, that’s one of a kind. I like your first name.” or “Wait…how you spell your first name again?” lol It’s not a common name in any country, but I think it sounds pretty cool. But I found people with the same name in France, Ecuador, India, and Japan on facebook. How random!! lol</p>

<p>If I can get accepted in the fall I will concentrate in either finance + applied economics or finance + accounting. Maybe they just changed it recently so that two was the maximum number of concentrations, and that students who previously chose three are allowed to finish them up?</p>
<p>I’m not bothered by it or anything, I’m just wondering why people make it seem as though it’s so funny or unique even though I’m sure millions of other people have the same last name.</p>
