Who's going to Union/AMC?

I’m officially going to Union/AMC? Anyone else?

how much scholarship money did u get there? And what are ur stats? Thanks…

I don’t know how much money I got exactly, I think $10,000 (Presidential Scholarship?) for 4 years undergrad at Union.

SAT:
2160 (1450)

SATII’s:
710 Math IC
700 Bio

GPA:
~3.8 (it was exactly 3.78 after Junior year)

AP’s:
-5 Biology
-4 AP English Comp
-4 AP Statistics
-4 AP US History

EC’s:

  • Hospital volunteer 500+ hours
  • Hospital Administrative Intern (w/ Vice President of Public Relations)(Saw buisness side of medicine)
  • Shadowed Attending Physician and his Interns and Residents in Hospital
(Grand Rounds, Rounds, Morbidity and Mortality, etc.)(I saw what it was like to be an intern)
  • Volunteer for start-up AIDS organization in China
  • Soup Kitchen Volunteer

-Varsity soccer team
-Varsity Fencing team captain
-Piano
-Art

Jobs:

  • Teaching assistant
  • Referee
  • Coach

I think my essay was the best part of my application. I barely did any clubs I did one club a year and it was barely mentioned on anything I did. I think I was accepted because of the experience I had in my EC’s and how I basically tailored my stat’s to the LIM program. I had experience in the buisness/leadership aspect as well as the medical side.

was the 1450 SAT from one sitting or more than one sitting?

I took the SAT’s twice, the first time I got 2020 the second time 2160. The 2nd time I took it all my scores went up in writing, verbal, and math individually so my highest composite score was from one sitting.

ah…ok…thanks…do u know how many people Union interviews/takes for their program?

They interview around 100(?) and accepted 50%(?). I went to a few interviews so I don’t really remember but once you get an interview for any of these programs your chances increase significantly.

yoooooooo what’s up

i’ll be heading to union/amc next fall, and i’m pretty pumped

where’re u from slx?

Muttontown, NY.

cool, i’m from garden city

u excited for next year?

yeah. what dorm are you opting for?

most likely webster…wut about u?

Webster also

my sister stayed at webster her 1st year… it was decent. its pretty from the outside at least.

Did your sister wish she was in another dorm after experiencing Webster or was she okay with it?

as a first-year she was okay with it… after all, being in the accelerated program she prob spent more time in the library. her other years she had a suite or house with 4 of her program friends. webster is fine though… its substance free, i think.

i heard a lot of the LIM kids stay in webster

hey is it better to have 3 800s on the subject test(like math science history) or get a good sat score like (2150+)

um…i’d say both

is there one more important than the other one.
