Whos who award?

What is a whos who award? Should I be proud of this or do they just want my money? Will this help me get into college? Thanks

you should be proud of this. my sister was in it last year and she’s in it again this year. i dont think its too big of a deal for now, but im sure it’ll help with college aps. (my sis takes a bunch of AP&IB classes and have a gpa of 4.8 or something)

I beg to differ…I am also listed in Whos Who…its not that big a deal…just about EVERYONE is listed in there…and some of them are just plain stupid people…dont think too much about it and no it will not get u into college

It is a scam. im not exaggerating. Its notorious on this site as being so. In general, if u have to pay money for an award, its not legit . COlleges aren;t impressed by it. It even says it in the princeton review book.

Okay, it’s not a scam. You don’t have to pay any money for this award (unless you sign up for the scholarship thing, maybe, but I have no clue on that). I am in the Who’s Who Among HS Students as well, and the reason why this award is not considered to be prestigious (it’s actually far from it) is because EVERYONE can get it. When almost everyone is eligible for an award, that does not mean it’s a scam. It is simply a useless title. If you want to see a scam, look at Surf Junky. That’s a total rip off.

It’s like being in the NHS… no biggie

oh nevermind. gotta tell me sis =)

A quick little anecdote about Who’s Who…

When I register for online things, I often like to use a fake name because I’m paranoid. Last year, one of my alias names (Amanda Meeks) was accepted into Who’s Who due to her outstanding accomplishments.

I, on the other hand, received no such “honor.”

hahahahaha

The award is for the egotistical among us who think that someone is going to open up that book, find their name and say “WOW! Amazing! Wunderkind!”. You’ll get all kinds of stuff like that through high school. 'Tis a waste, if not a scam.

Then there’s the National Honor Roll…

…another waste of time.

Never heard of that… guess I don’t qualify.

I’m offended.

nah, it’s some really stupid scam like the Who’s Who Award–don’t worry about it.

I dont know if Whos Who a scam but I know it isnt worth getting excited about. I got a letter last year (freshman) and this year and threw both of them away. Its not worth my money to buy some book with my name in it and a brief description about me in it when I know all that stuff and I really dont care to see that about other students. Also my sister (freshman), whos failing like 2 classes and isnt “the brightest crayon in the box”, got a letter.
I didnt bother to read my letter this year but someone mentioned something about probably having to pay for a scholarship from Whos Who. Maybe u do or maybe u dont but why would u PAY to get a scholarship? If thats not a scam, then what is?
