So is anyone going to joing the band? I probably will.

I was going to join the band. Im not sure, but Im bringing my instrument just in case. Depends on when the practices are and how time comsuming.

Anyone know if its worth it to rent a minifridge? I have one at home I could bring, but with the three meals a day provided Im not sure if having a fridge is actually that important.

You most definetely want your own fridge bro. It is sweltering in the summer there, and the dorms are not ac, so having a place to store nice cold refreshing beverages LOL, is a key to a great experience there, you can rent them with the mircowve, I usually just bring my own and stick it in there, I usually bring a blender as well, power shakes whatever. I really think you will regret it if you DONT have one, as want really harm will it do by having it, except take up more space.

Just Got Here At Ssp
This Place Is Awesome!!!

I doubt any SSPers are on here right now, but I just arrived here from Orlando and a FBLA conference. I’m at the Inn at Harvard now - I walked by Straus B but don’t have a card to get in until tomorrow and couldn’t go in. Cambridge looks great!

Will I be the only person arriving tomorrow?

First time on CC since I got here… But anyway, both of my classes requires 10 hours of work per week each (according to multi people who took it), and one of them has insanely boring lectures.

how competitive is ths SSP program in Harvard…and what are the requirements? i would really like to spend a summer there

No offense to CCers that happen to go to SSP (pretty much everyone’s really amazing on these forums), but it’s not really competitive… Most people who apply will get in. It’s a way that Harvard can get some more revenue.
I learned a lot of life lessons though- gave me more of a college experience than other summer programs… I also fell in love with Cambridge and Boston because of it…

SSP is not competitive at all. Not sure about this year, but they took 1000 out of 1500 last year. Plus, even I got in, so it can’t be that competitive.

wow…after reading this forum, i really want to apply for next year…how many of u guys recieved financial aid?
