Whose going to SSP this summer

Anybody here taking General Chem??

hey lorrrrrae…i’m taking general chem

cool, are you a rising senior? sorry, couldn’t read all the way through the rest of the pages to see stats or whatever. where’re you staying quinoguiver?

quinoguiver: i was in the chorus last year and it was AWESOME! the auditions are fine, don’t worry, they just ask you to sing something short like amazing grace or whatever and then sight sing a page from something they have on the piano and then ear-sing if that’s the phrase. this year it’s Mozart’s Mass in C minor so that should be good.

omg lorrrrrae…are u telling me that ur a rising senior, whose a filipino/a…hopefully filipina…that u do chorus…and are taking general chem…cuz if you are…then we’ll be seeing a lot of each other

i’m a filipino whose taking general chem and doing chorus
i’m staying in matthews 109…but wow…we have like the exacts stats

hey guys! who else is getting pumped for June 25th?!

so, anyways, I’m from LA, and I’m taking Calculus I and Writing and Literature… has anyone heard anything about them? ooooh, also, what about Stoughton North?

awesome, cool, can’t wait

lachica: Which section of Writing and Literature are you in?

hey I’m in the 1:00-3:30 MW section, with Prof. Underwood-- what about you?

I’m in the other one… too bad :(

You’re a rising junior?

OH MY GOD quinoguiver! what are the chances huh? where are you from? yeah, filipina baby, but yeah, i got stuck with greenough. oh well, dude, ssp is SO much fun, we’re gonna have a blast!

Kirkland is so far away!! Where is Byerly Hall? Like in the yard or something?

yeah lorrrrrae, i’m excited

i’m from augusta, GA…but my parents are from the philippines. Its nice being a minority…especially when applying to schools like harvard.

my screen name on AOL is quinoguiver too. So if you or anyone else wants to chat…just IM me.

Still nobody else in Straus?

Email address info and orientation weekend info came today…

Oh yeah. You MUST check Mike’s Pastry in North Boston. Ask your proctors to definitely take you out there once, especially if you’ve never been there before. :)

The equivalent of Macdonalds in the vicinity of the MIT/Harvard area are Au Bon Pain, which are omnipresent - fairly tasty as well, but not as much as the pastries from the aforementioned store. Try going there too :)

Nearby Kirkland, I think is an amazing pizza place called Pinnochio’s - that’s also a MUST GO TO at least once during the summer.

So amazing! So delicious! Boston food is among the best.

Apologies in advance if I’m missing anything; maybe some fellow past SSPers can fill in the blanks :)

Enjoy!

For anyone that wants pics of their dorms: http://ssp.harvard.edu/2005/about/tour/residences/default.jsp</a> Byerly is on Garden st. It’s unusual that they’re housing people there as it’s where the GSAS offices are. oh well :D

im a rising senior from upstate NY
havent gotten SAT scores yet
im taking biomedical ethics and im on the waitlist for metabolism and physiology. what class shoul di sin up for , because my second choice , the anatamy class also has a waitlist so im thinking i wont get in.

what are u supposed to bring?
is anyone bringing a laptop. or is that unnecessary.

I went last year to SSP and LOVED IT. I didn’t want to leave… but I suppose I had to…

I took Beginning Screenwriting and Directing, both amazing classes. I also got to intern at The Crimson and the Harvard-Radcliffe theatre… Lots of fun.

I was in Canaday E with some amazing people.

Wow, I miss SSP…

I’m bringing a laptop.

yeah im bringing a laptop too.

Yeah, laptops are great to bring cause the dorms are wired for the net and if you like your internet, bring one. On the other hand, there are computers in the Science Centre, but you know, your own is better.
