Whose going to SSP this summer

if you’re taking a class that requires writing, bring one cause it’s a pain to work in the libraries or in the SC.

5 kids from my school are going =P they are all kinda weird tho…one kid is decent the other kids are all wacked up =P

hi im new to this whole forum thing, but im goin to SSP… takin 8 unit intro bio… and im in straus…

I knew a couple people who did 8-unt Bio last summer…

I don’t think I ever saw them NOT studying…

good luck!

is the combination of principles of genetics and intellectual property do able? i’m willing to work, but it’s summer!

my friend from last summer ssp did bio and he got a- and he didnt study that much - he was out socializing with me and stuff, so dont worry. its a hell of a good time, dont worry so much.

so… is there anyone out there who wants to be my walking buddy to the science center everyday? o… and anyone know what’s “happenin” for the fourth of july… all us college confidential people should have our own little party haha… but seriously, does anyone know what kinda celebrations there are in boston for the holiday?

boston + 4th of july = best ever.

hang out at the charles river (boston side) near the hatch shell. its a great show.

yeah that charles river firework show was amazing. i have so many great memories from last year. almost brings tears to my eyes. you guys are soo lucky to be going

I agree with stanmaster, SSP last year was a-mazing! I’ve even kept in touch with most of my proctor group. I wish everyone an awesome summer.

i’m in straus.

where are you from: lawrence, ks
what year are you in high schoo’: i will be a senior in the fall (finally)
gpa: does anyone really care?
courses taking: myth & poetry in greece and rome / intro to philosophhyyyy
why you selected harvard for ssp: i have never done anything of this caliber EVER during the summer. i didn’t want to be lazy all summer, either. plus, it’s hahhhvahd. a summer on the charles? yeah, i’m excited. and being from kansas, i get excited a lot. haha. i’ve never been to massachusetts. this should be an interesting summer.

music: currently… hot water music, say hi to your mom, veda (KCMO represent), backstreet boys, brand new, arcade fire, white stripes, last days of april, architecture in helsinki, minus the bear, tilly & the wall, bear vs. shark

oh, and i am asian.

i want to sign up for a diff course, because my first and second course choices ( 4 unit) both have wait lists. im taking biomed ethics
any one have any suggestions

any former SSP-ers - did you find yourself hanging with college kids or was it liek exclusively SSP?

has anyone been to JHU’s CTY program. i have done that for like 4 yrs and last year was teh first summer i didnt do it. is this program similar to that?

im so excited for this program. haha 8 weeks not at home! haha no i like nerd camp.
reply!!

okay i think i have boiled it down to micro econ or intro to american gov which one is better
in in kirkland or whatever that dorm is called. any seniors in this dorm?

there are rules that kinda prohibit ssp/college kids mixing, like college kids don’t ahve access to ssp dorms (their ID cards are blocked) and they’re not allowed in our halls and vice versa, so yeah, not really much mixing

intro bio last year was good. the class has good hours, except that you don’t get to go on any of the college trips but oh well. labs are fun, there’s no homework that needs to be handed in, except for lab reports, but that’s no biggie. last year our filed trip was cancelled, but this year it looks like that’s going ahead

taffylucia: yeah it’s doable, don’t sweat. there’s so much free time, it’s great. as long as the sched’s don’t clash you’ll be fine.

btw, brain break every night is a great way to meet people. there’s food down at loker commons and a billards table, and a piano, tvs and computers there too. it’s a great place to hang out in when it gets hot in the day as well

what exactly is ‘brain break’? is it like for ALL the ssp kids?

yeah its for all ssp students. Its alot of fun. There is food and alot kids are there so you can talk to them and hang out. After a long day its relaxing to go down to loker and just shoot pool and have fun with a bunch of amazing people.

okay, intro to gov it is!
okay so noone in kirkland house?
there has to be someone
former SSP-ers? are there alot of senior students or its mainly rising 11th and 10th graders?
