why am i not invited to Tau Beta Pi

I am an EE/Physics double major and my gpa is 3.56 and the major gpa is 3.62. I am 100% sure I am in top 1/8 of my junior class but I am not invited to Tau Beta Pi. I really want to get into this society because I think it will help me with my future career. I am friendly with the EE advisor for Tau Beta Pi so should I email him or talk to him and ask why I am not in?

Is there a national group with a website that includes admissions requirements? If you check that and still think you meet their requirements, then why not talk to the advisor and ask?

What do you mean by “not invited”? Did you ever ask? I know next to nothing about TBP but a 3-second google search tells me that they tell people who feel that they are qualified to talk to their local TBP advisor about it.

Sometimes chapters will send out invitations to those who are eligible to join. My boyfriend has gotten three of those stupid things.

Go talk to your adviser or the chapter rep. They will be able to help you out.
