Why are AP Score Mailings so sporadic?

Why are AP Score Mailings so sporadic?

From the AP Score Mailings Thread, it looks like some states or towns get them a month earlier than others.

Is there any logical reason for this, or is it just that ETS is too pokey to send them all out at the same time? The SAT people manage to do a coordinated mailing for all of their scores, and they even post them online. However, ETS (also part of college board) takes a month to finish reporting.

Any thoughts?

Well, for one thing, the grading of AP exams is much more difficult than the grading of the SAT. AP exams require legions of graders in dozens of subjects, as opposed to the mostly computer-based SAT and its (relatively) short and standard writing component. I don’t really understand the mailing thing either, though.

Its actually somewhat ordered, they start on the west coast and move eastward. And its not a month, 2 weeks at most. If you really want your scores that badly, just call.

It also depends how good your postal service is…

Also, my sister (a year younger than me) got her scores by mail two days before I did. I have no idea how that works since we live in the same house.
