Why are these science questions wrong...?

This is taken from McGraw-Hills test.

There is the picture.

So, we have uniformity of particle size on the x axis, and porosity on the y axis. From this graph, we can see that as uniformity increases (go to the right), the porosity decreases, right?

So there is an INVERSE relationship, right?

This is what I inferred from the graph, but the passage states that as uniformity increases, porosity does as well.

If a rock has a high level of uniformity, the porosity of the rock will be… high or low??

And is the relationship between the uniformity and porosity direct, indirect, or exponential?

Can someone please help me and explain this to me. The graph threw me off because I read it in a different way.

You’re right.

This is a reason why I, as a consultant, do not recommend books like this, because they cause kids unnecessary agony by teaching them flawed, inapplicable material or by providing incorrect content.
