…Instead of saving for Med School? Please give some thoughts if this applies to you. Thanks!

Because the private college I attended barely cost more than my state school.

Because I am more likely to get into med school by attending a school I like rather than one I’d be miserable at.

Going to a private school doesn’t mean that person isn’t saving money.

It didn’t cost me anything to attend my private school, and while it wouldn’t have cost me to attend my state school either, ultimately I felt like I’d be happier at the school I chose.

Like steeler said, it doesn’t necessarily mean that a person is paying more at a private university. However, I do know students who chose the private school that cost them more but the reasons vary. For some students they felt like they’d be happier at the school, like the area more, and thought it provided more oppertunities for them. But I also know people who chose the private school and paid more because they just thought it’d give them a better chance at medical/graduate schools.
