Why aren't GPAs at community colleges counted in Pitt's GPA?

I took one class at a CC before starting my 1st semester at Pitt. I got an A in the class and have gotten credit for having “taken” the class, but it doesn’t look like it’s counting towards my cumulative GPA. Is this typical?

In my experience, this is typical of most universities.

Steve is right. Colleges do not transfer GPA form CCs or other colleges. In the future, students have to show all transcripts for anyone asking, so the CC GPA will show. Likewise, a resume would reflect both schools and the respective GPA if applicable.
