Why cant my father let me drive?

Well, about the car, in the insurance it says it is owned by my father and my brother. I think I have heard my father said before that my brother was the cosigner when he bought the car. Anyway, my father already fixed the car and didn’t ask me for money. Maybe he was just joking about it.

Yesterday, while he was driving (usually I can easily talk to him when he drives), I ask him about the insurance. He says that I can use his car while I save up some money to buy my own. He could just add me as one of the owner of the car, I think. Then we reach a compromise that I will pay him $150 a month when I get my license. My learners permit is expiring soon, he said I have to practice some more, and maybe get the license 2 more months.

Bunsenburner, I don’t know if I could ask help from my relatives about it, they kind of think alike. They don’t see anything wrong with what my father was doing. Besides most of them are married quite old (40s), and have young kids. They are also very protective with their kids, so they probably won’t understand what I am going through. So, I think I will just do what I need to do in order to insure I’ll be competitive enough to get a decent earning job. Maybe this will just pass, and things will be better in the future.

Thank you guys for taking the time to read my thread and for all the wonderful response, I really appreciate it.
